Val Chmerkovskiy and Laurie Hernandez stepped up and performed to the best of their abilities on last night’s Dancing with the Stars finale. While some of the stars fell flat and didn’t give their best during the finale, Val could not be more happy and excited to win the Mirrorball trophy with Laurie. Chmerkovskiy kept kissing Laurie’s forehead throughout the season and he just continued to kiss her after winning the trophy last night. And that had many people wondering what was going on, as he had previously referred to himself as a father role in her life and feeling a bit fatherly with some of their dances.
According to a new Hollywood Life report, Val Chmerkovskiy is now revealing that he can’t stop kissing her for the exact same reason that people at home just love seeing Laurie on television. There’s just something about her that’s innocent, fun, and inspiring. Plus, Hernandez’s laugh has captured the world and people love seeing her dance each week.

“I can’t stop kissing her! Just like the millions of people watching her at home, I can’t stop squeezing her so I am definitely going to miss her,” Chmerkovskiy explains in an interview with reporters waiting outside of the Dancing with the Stars studios after winning, according to Hollywood Life . “I am excited that she is going on tour with us, and she will continue to be with the Dancing with the Stars family, and we love to have her!”
On the Dancing with the Stars finale last night, it was revealed that Laurie will join some of the stars on the Dancing with the Stars tour, where she gets to perform with some of the professional stars, not just Val Chmerkovskiy. The final line-up for the tour hasn’t been announced yet, but Laurie has signed on to be one of the dancers.

“She is so special,” Val Chmerkovskiy continued in his interview with reporters, adding, “Especially working with such a young inspiring lady, I wanted to set an example through her. I wanted her to set an example for her generation that anything is possible and to stay hungry and stay humble! She is exceptional at that.”
Many people had suspected that Val Chmerkovskiy and Laurie Hernandez would win the trophy because she had performed so well throughout the season. In addition, Sharna Burgess and James Hinchcliffe were also fan-favorites and many felt that he would win because he was the most improved dancer throughout the season. He started as a non-dancer with little to no experience and really conquered the dance floor. But unlike Hernandez, he had a few slip-ups that affected the judges’ scores.

As for Laurie, she feels the same way about Val Chmerkovskiy. She feels that he has changed her life as well, as he offered her great support during the week when her grandmother passed away. Rather than leave the show, Hernandez decided to work through the pain and let Val Chmerkovskiy help her through the grief.
“All through my life, I want to inspire others and that is my goal everyday,” Laurie revealed about her relationship with Chmerkovskiy, sharing that Val had also taught her a few things, according to Hollywood Life . “Val taught me it is a good thing to go out and feel that pressure and have that responsibility to inspire others, because when I was a little kid I looked up to other people so I hope that I can inspire little kids!”
