Savannah Guthrie got engaged over the weekend and happily shared the big news during this morning’s edition of Today . The 41-year-old morning co-host is set to wed her boyfriend of four years, political and communications consultant Michael Feldman.
With a dazzling engagement ring glittering on her finger, Guthrie dished about her new fiance and their relationship. “I’m so excited! He’s the best person … And I know him so well too,” she excitedly explained . “We adore each other. Our families have been in-laws for years … they were just waiting for us to catch up!”
This will be Savannah Guthrie’s second trip down the aisle. Her previous marriage, to BBC News anchor Mark Orchard, ended in divorce after five years.
Guthrie and Feldman reportedly began their relationship in 2009. At the time, she was working as a White House correspondent for NBC.
Her groom-to-be also worked in the political arena, serving as Vice President Al Gore’s traveling chief of staff during the 2000 presidential election campaign.
In 2001, Michael Feldman co-founded The Glover Park Group, a firm which specializes in government relations, corporate advocacy, crisis management, and communication services.
Feldman reportedly popped the question to his future bride during a romantic weekend getaway. The proposal and acceptance were wholeheartedly met with approval by the couple’s families. According to Guthrie , “Our mothers are like, ‘Hallelujah!’”
Savannah Guthrie’s Today co-hosts were also delighted by news of the couple’s pending nuptials. Matt Lauer promptly tweeted a picture of his newly engaged colleague showing off her ring from behind the news desk. “Good for you and congratulations to Mr. Feldman,” he offered on-air . “He’s a great guy.”

MSNBC’s Chuck Todd, a close friend of Michael Feldman, echoed the sentiment with a tweet that read: “Hey @feldmike, it’s clear @SavannahGuthrie is doing serious damage to the @todayshow table. So exciting.”
Actor Bradley Cooper, who was a guest on this morning’s show, also joined in the congratulatory celebration by presenting the engaged co-host with a pretty bouquet of roses. Meanwhile, Savannah Guthrie remained tight-lipped regarding her future wedding plans, only confessing that the ceremony would not be broadcast on Today .
