Rihanna and Drake may no longer be making headlines for their rumored relationship, but with the duo racking up an impressive 36 Billboard Music Award Nominations between the two of them for Sunday night’s show, it’s no surprise that fans are eager to see whether a friendly reunion for Drake and Rih is on the horizon.
The last time Rihanna and Drake were seen together on a televised program was during the MTV Video Music Awards in August, where Drake gave a heartfelt speech about his love and admiration for the “Diamonds” singer before presenting Rih with the MTV Video Vanguard Award.
While Drake’s speech instantly fueled dating reports for the “What’s My Name?” collaborators, in addition to reportedly getting matching tattoos with Rihanna following the conclusion of the MTV VMAs, the Drake and Rihanna dating claims came to a halt after Drake was spotted dating several women in late 2016.
Sources close to Drake and Rihanna later revealed to E! News that the cause of Drake and Rih’s apparent split was due to scheduling conflicts , noting that the duo “still love each other” but are “seeing other people at the moment.”
While Rihanna and Drake have kept mum regarding the status of their friendship on social media since seemingly breaking off their romance in October, Drake has not been shy when it comes to showering Rihanna’s Instagram photos with “likes,” thereby silencing claims suggesting that the duo may not be on good terms following the end of their on-again, off-again relationship.

Now, with just over 24 hours to go until the start of the Billboard Music Awards, fans have taken to social media to speculate on whether or not Drake and Rihanna may have a run-in during tomorrow night’s show.
Currently, Drake is set to perform during tomorrow night’s festivities in Las Vegas and, with Rihanna being nominated for 14 awards for this year’s show, it’s possible that both Rihanna and Drake will be in attendance at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards.
Drake has already landed in Vegas to kick-off the BBMAs festivities early, having taken to his Instagram page on Saturday morning to announce his arrival alongside “broski” George Bousis.
Meanwhile, Rihanna is currently busy celebrating the launch of her new jewelry collection with Chopard in Cannes, having attended the luxury brand’s Cannes Film Festival party last night in a Disney-esque Adam Selman gown and corset.

Rihanna’s best friend, Melissa Forde, took to Snapchat last night to share a video of her and Rih having a great time at Chopard’s event, even posting one video of her and Rihanna singing and dancing along to Drake and Gucci Mane’s track, “Both.”

Currently, it’s unclear whether Rihanna will make it back to the States in time for tomorrow’s BBMAs, although one fan did point out that Rihanna is set to be honored at Parsons School of Design Benefit in NYC on Monday, thereby presenting an opportunity for the songstress to stop by Las Vegas for Sunday night’s award show before catching a jet to NYC for the benefit on Monday.

If Rihanna does make it in time for the 2017 BBMAs, she’ll be able to catch a “memorable” performance from Drake during Sunday’s show, although there’s no confirmation just yet on what song Drake may be performing.
According to an executive producer for the Billboard Music Awards, Drake’s performance will be a “very, very big moment” in the show, noting that the production of the performance has been “months in the making.”
“You know, Drake does not perform on television very often so I think whenever he does it’s a real event. We built a terrific relationship with his team, working creatively with them and coming up with a big idea, and I think it’s gonna be a very, very big moment in the show,” the producer told Billboard .
The source continued, “It’s not a surprise necessarily but it’s gonna be a moment that people aren’t exactly expecting…it’ll be memorable, I promise you that.”
With Drake’s last televised performance occurring during 2016’s BRIT Awards, where he made a surprise appearance during Rihanna’s first-ever live performance of “Work,” fans are already taking to social media to speculate over what tracks Drake might perform, including new singles, “Passionfruit,” “Free Smoke,” and “Blem.”
It’s worth noting that Rihanna performed during last year’s Billboard Music Awards, where she gave an emotional performance of her latest single, “Love on the Brain.” However, it’s unlikely that Rihanna has a surprise performance in store for tomorrow night’s show given the nature of her busy schedule.
The 2017 Billboard Music Awards airs tomorrow, Sunday, May 21 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
Do you think Rihanna will attend tomorrow night’s Billboard Music Awards, and if so, will she have a run-in with Drake?
