The President of the United States, like millions of other people, tweeted Caitlyn Jenner today after the unveiling of the cover of Vanity Fair . After enduring hours of facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, and hormone therapy, the one-time Olympic gold medalist poses on the cover in a one-piece white corseted lingerie outfit that reportedly cost $300. The caption reads, “Call Me Caitlyn.”
Vanity Fair’s 22-page cover story features Annie Leibovitz photos of Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce, along with new details. Friends, fans, and loved ones tweeted throughout the day, according to MSN .
According to E! Online , the president reached out to Caitlyn Jenner to congratulate her on her “courage” hours after the reveal of Jenner’s cover photo.
President Obama’s tweet was among the tweets that Caitlyn received on the first day her account was activated, which reached one million followers in Guinness World Record time , four hours and three minutes. Caitlyn broke Obama’s record. Last month, President Obama set up his own Twitter account and received a million followers in just under five hours.

Caitlyn Jenner, who was born Bruce Jenner and rose to fame as an Olympic athlete and, later, a reality TV star, revealed her new identity on Monday. Four hours after her first Tweet, her newly launched account was up to a million followers .
Others to offer their support of Jenner via social media on Monday included Anna Kendrick, Kerry Washington, Monica Lewinsky, Maria Shriver, Hoda Kotb, and Ellen DeGeneres.
DeGeneres tweeted, “My hope for the world is that we can all be as brave as @Caitlyn_Jenner.”
Following her big debut, Jenner’s Twitter page quickly became the fastest growing account to reach one million followers. She thanked fans for the accomplishment and gave a nod to her past as an Olympic athlete.
