Pippa Middleton and her husband, James Matthews, welcomed their first child on Monday afternoon in London. The baby, a boy, was born in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital — where her sister, Kate Middleton, delivered her children.
PageSix says that Pippa Middleton, 35, delivered a healthy baby boy just days after appearing at the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at Windsor Castle. During the nuptials, Pippa Middleton was evidently late in her term.
Middleton stayed active until the very end — she was seen socializing, shopping, and even heading to the gym well into her third trimester. In a column which she wrote for Waitrose about her pregnancy, Middleton explained that towards the end of her term, she switched over to swimming in order to escape the heavy feeling — at least for a short while.
“As the months pass, you feel heavier by the day, but being in water gives that floating, light-as-air feeling that soothes and relieves the body, counteracts increased back strain and stretches the legs from the growing bump. It’s non-impact, gentle and relaxing.”
The Daily Mail says that Middleton’s sister — Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge — and her husband, Prince William, are now finally an aunt and uncle. That means that Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis finally have a first cousin.

A spokesperson for Kensington Palace shared the excitement from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, saying that the two are “thrilled for Pippa and James.”
The birth of the currently unnamed baby boy comes one day after the huge announcement from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that they are expecting a baby in the spring.
Though the new mother has made pregnancy look effortless — she was lucky enough to skip the morning sickness that plagued her sister Kate — she admits that towards the end she was feeling the effect of the extra weight on her small frame.
“As a result, one of the biggest changes is that my lower body has tightened up. The knock-on effect is making my back and sacrum both uncomfortable and achy. The transformations to my body that are taking place as it prepares for childbirth have meant that the sound sleeps and the baby bubble effect have gone. Reality is finally kicking in.”
The announcements from Kensington Palace are now trending away from royal weddings and toward baby news as a new generation is making its way into the family. It seems that the youngest Windsors will be surrounded by family their own age!
