Paul Ryan appeared on Meet the Press Sunday, and seemingly gave an endorsement of a potential Hillary Clinton presidency.

Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman and former GOP vice presidential nominee, sat down with NBC ‘s David Gregory to talk about the coming spring when the fiscal cliff debate will be revived . New, yet familiar, battles of taxation and spending will occur as Congress once again attempts to resolve our nation’s economic woes.

“The president got his additional revenues. So that’s behind us,” Ryan said of what will be on the table come spring. “Are we for raising revenues? No we’re not,” he continued. “If you keep raising revenues, you’re not going to get decent tax reform.”

Ryan also criticized President Barack Obama, predicting that a bipartisan solution would be difficult when Republicans and Democrats don’t even seem to be on the same page. “I don’t think that the president actually thinks we have a fiscal crisis,” Ryan said.

MSN notes that Ryan also made a strange endorsement of Hillary Clinton, arguing that under her presidency, we wouldn’t have so much trouble resolving our financial woes.

“If we had a [Hillary] Clinton presidency … I think we would have fixed this fiscal mess by now,” he opined.

Since the GOP has been busy hammering Clinton all week over Benghazi, it’s strange to hear what sounds like praise coming from a member of the right. Still, Clinton is a contender for a 2016 run (if rumor proves true) and Ryan has historically said that he’s one for bipartisan compromise , so maybe it’s not all that unusual for him to give credit where he sees it due.

Here’s the video. Let us know what you think. Is this Paul Ryan’s endorsement of Hillary Clinton?
