Pop powerhouse Katy Perry teamed up with rock legend Mick Jagger for a rousing rendition of “Beast of Burden” in Las Vegas on Saturday. The duo rocked the stage together for the Rolling Stones show at the MGM Grand Garden Arena as part of the band’s landmark “50 and Counting” tour.
Katy Perry joins an impressive list of musical stars to join Jagger and his band-mates on stage for their current musical jaunt. With her guest appearance on Saturday, the brunette bombshell follows in the footsteps of artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, and Gwen Stefani, who have all recently shared the spotlight with the iconic band.
While Perry strutted onto the stage about six songs into the Vegas set list, her guest appearance didn’t come as a complete shock to fans. A few hours prior to the show, the Rolling Stones leaked the news on Twitter .
“Tonight the Rolling Stones will be joined on stage in Las Vegas by @katyperry! #Stones50,” the band tweeted. Perry promptly responded with her own tweet, gushing “I’m much obliged & quite honored!”
Front-man Mick Jagger echoed the sentiment by posting, “Hey guys, really looking forward to duetting with Katy tonight … ” to his own Twitter account.
In addition to the Katy Perry duet, Saturday’s show marked a reunion of sorts for the Rolling Stones. Mick Taylor also joined his former band-mates on the Las Vegas stage.
However, it was the 28-year-old “California Gurls” pop goddess who made headlines after showing off her pipes and strutting the stage in thigh-high ebony boots and a flashy, figure-hugging miniskirt.
Once Perry and Jagger belted their way through “Beast of Burden,” the songstress took to Twitter again, bubbling over with excitement about the experience. First she posted a giddy tweet exclaiming how she “gyrated on Mick Jagger,” and later shared a picture from the performance with the caption, “Mick & Kate forever!”

Finally, Perry offered her gratitude to the band, sharing a backstage photo in which she’s happily surrounded by Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and Charlie Watts:
