Get ready to see a new vigilante in Starling City! At the end of Season 4 we saw the Arrow team all part ways, leaving only Oliver and Felicity in Starling City, with Oliver as the interim mayor. Although we all know the heroes can’t stay away forever, it’s nice to know that in case they don’t come back as soon as we think they will, Oliver will have a helping hand out in the field.
According to Entertainment Weekly , Blindspot star Joe Dinicol will be joining the cast of Arrow in a recurring role as Rory Regan. If you’re all caught up on your DC Comic knowledge, you’ll know that Rory Regan is the mystical vigilante known as Ragman. In the comics, Ragman was one of the few Jewish superheroes to exist, and it’ll be interesting to see if Regan’s Jewish heritage will be portrayed in the show.
Entertainment Weekly reports that when Rory enters the show in Episode 2 of Season 5, he’ll be recovering from a personal tragedy and looking for answers in Star City. This is when he’ll cross paths with the Green Arrow. It’s unclear whether these two will become fast friends or if they’ll have to ease into this partnership, but whatever the case will be, it’ll surely be a fun time. In the comics Ragman’s abilities consisted of drawing up the physical powers of the souls that made up his suit. He can therefore protect himself by letting his souls take the pain for him and use the souls’ strengths, agility, and any other skills they may have.
With every passing season, Arrow dives more and more into the mystical. In Season 3 fans were introduced to Ra’s al Ghul and his Lazarus Pit that was used to revive Sara Lance and Thea Queen. Then in Season 4, the main villain was Damien Darhk who used powerful magic against the citizens of Starling City. Last season was definitely a more magical fight, where Oliver had to tap into his own personal magic to defeat Dahrk.

Now it looks like this season we’ll see even more mystical powers in Starling City with the addition of Rory Regan/Ragman. Ragman may fill a hole that was left when Laurel Lance was killed by Dahrk last season. Fans are still reeling from the loss of Laurel and some are still holding out hope that she’ll return in Season 5. The cast seems pretty sure that Laurel won’t be coming back, however. Still, this hasn’t stopped fans from believing we’ll be seeing Laurel again, and with the amount of times characters have died and come back on Arrow , it’s not totally crazy to keep hope alive.
It’s unknown what Ragman’s role will be on team Arrow , if he chooses to join them at all. When it comes to the comics, Ragman and the Green Arrow didn’t work together that often but did team up once or twice. Will Ragman fill a kind of sidekick role to the Green Arrow like Roy Harper did as the Arsenal? Or will Ragman and the Green Arrow be more like equals? It’s too soon to tell, but hopefully we’ll get a glimpse of Ragman in the new teaser trailer for Season 5 of Arrow that is supposed to air after Arrow ‘s panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Thankfully, the trailer will be coming soon and fans won’t have to wait much longer. Besides a sighting of Ragman, Green Arrow’s new suit for the season is supposed to be revealed in the trailer. Fans are also hoping for a glimpse at the new Arrow lair.
