Man of Steel director Zack Snyder is rumored to be the man spearheading the proposed Justice League of America movie at Warner Bros.
Reports have swirling for a while that both Snyder and Ruben Fleischer were up for the project. However, a recent interview with the Gangster Squad director suggests that the studio may have already tapped Snyder for the job.
When asked if he was still interested in tackling the Justice League flick, Fleischer indicated that the project may have already landed in someone else’s lap.
“That’s something that Zack Snyder is going to wind up doing,” the filmmaker told the folks at ScreenCrush .
Of course, none of this information has been confirmed by Zack Snyder or the folks at Warner Bros. Chances are the studio is waiting to see how well Man of Steel does at the box office before they move forward with the project.
Many people believed that The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan would end up directing the Justice League flick. Ben Affleck and the Wachowskis were also reportedly in the running for the gig.
Other reports suggest that writer David Goyer and Zack Snyder will collaborate on the story. Once the specifics for the Justice League adaptation are hammered out, Goyer will pen the script. Warner Bros. will take it from there.
All of this hinges on the box office success of Snyder’s Man of Steel . The movie, which is slated to arrive this summer, is expected to make a ton of money during its theatrical run. On the off chance that it flops, the studio may decide to pass on the Justice League movie altogether.
For the time being, the filmmaker’s involvement with the project should be considered a rumor. Warner Bros. will surely make an announcement when everything is ready to go.
Do you think Zack Snyder is the right guy to tackle the Justice League movie?
