WWE Rumors: Vince McMahon Not Thrilled With NXT Talent And Rips One Gimmick As ‘Stupid’

Vince McMahon may be on his way out as the lead guy of WWE, but he still has a lot of say as to what goes on in his company. In time, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon will take the reins of WWE, and it will be their company to manage, but not just yet. For now, NXT is Triple H’s baby, and he’s slowly bringing that talent up to the main roster, and the fans are loving it. Unfortunately, not everyone is loving it, and that includes his father-in-law.

In the past month, a number of NXT talents have been called up to the main roster and three of the six were rather unexpected. Baron Corbin and the team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass were thought to be coming for quite some time.

The call-ups of The Vaudevillains and Apollo Crews were rather sudden and shocking to many people. Maybe that’s why Vince McMahon isn’t overly fond of any of those three superstars as of yet and had some rather choice words for them.

According to The Wrestling Observer, there are many people rethinking the idea of The Vaudevillains being onthe main roster. Not just that, but Vince McMahon actually believes their gimmick to be something he’s not fond of and quite “stupid.”

McMahon simply doesn’t like the throwback appearances and personalities of Simon Gotch and Aiden English. Yes, they did make it into the finals of the tag team tournament, but many backstage officials feel they haven’t impressed in the ring and haven’t connected with the fans at all.

Apollo Crews officially signed with WWE at the very end of 2014 and didn’t make his first televised in-ring appearance for NXT until late August. On April 4, Crews surprisingly made his WWE main roster debut on Monday Night Rawand defeated Tyler Breeze in an impressive fashion.

Since then, he’s been rather lost in the shuffle and just there.

Daily Wrestling News is reporting that Crews is getting a lot of positive reviews for his in-ring work and ability, but that’s about all anyone has had to say. McMahon and other WWE officials aren’t fond of his personality and don’t believe he’s getting over well with the fans.

The list of NXT talents called up to the main roster that haven’t impressed WWE officials is growing, and it includes Adam Rose, Bo Dallas, Tyler Breeze, and The Ascension. It seems that for every NXT talent that fades into the background, there are also those that rise up.

The team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass are being met with a lot of favor from Vince McMahon as he’s quite high on them. Their in-ring work has been very good, their promos are well done, and the fans are taking to them in huge ways. Vince may not fully understand their gimmick, but he does like them.

Baron Corbin was in NXT for about three-an-a-half years before being called up to WWE’s main roster and making his debut at WrestleMania 32 . McMahon is fond of his size as a big guy and seems to enjoy his gimmick so far.

From this point, there may not be a large amount of NXT call-ups anytime soon except for the worldwide known talents such as Samoa Joe, Hideo Itami, and Finn Balor .

In the past, Triple H has said that Vince McMahon is a huge fan of NXT and loves what is happening with the brand. Well, it appears as if the rumors of him thinking they are nothing more than a “touring brand” and don’t have a lot of “money” talent, may be the way he truly thinks.

Triple H is going to keep building NXT and he’s only going to make it even more successful than it already is. Vince McMahon won’t be around forever, and NXT is indeed the future of WWE, but for now, Triple H’s father-in-law is still there. The fact that he is not overly high on Apollo Crews and pretty much hates The Vaudevillains is not good for them. Enzo Amore and Big Cass? Being in Vinnie-Mac’s favor is a good sign for their future.
