WWE is preparing to present Survivor Series in a few weeks from Atlanta, and there are two big championship matches already on the card. Still, that’s not what everyone is talking about, as rumors are swirling about two wrestling legends that could appear at the big pay-per-view event. Word is going around that not only may The Rock show up, but Sting could be there as well and team with The Undertaker and Kane versus The Wyatt Family.
The Wyatt Family is four huge members strong, and in the past couple of weeks, they’ve abducted both members of the Brothers of Destruction . It is expected that a traditional elimination-style tag match will take place at Survivor Series pitting the Wyatts against Undertaker, Kane, and partners of their choosing.
It’s not known who could join Undertaker and Kane, but a lot of names have been thrown around lately. One of those names is Sting, even though he suffered a pretty serious injury at Night of Champions a couple of months ago.
Wrestling Rumors is reporting that it’s very possible Sting could be one of the partners for The Undertaker and Kane at Survivor Series . Seth Rollins had recently said that Sting was doing alright and resting at home, but it appears he’s actually in shape to wrestle now as well.
There’s been no real confirmation or anything on Sting’s status and if he’ll actually appear at Survivor Series , but the speculation is there. It’s not known who else could team up the Brothers of Destruction, but they may need to find a few more as WWE put it.
WrestleZone noticed that WWE had posted a catch-up on the rules of the traditional elimination tag matches and upped things a bit.
“The Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match. The 10-Superstar war of attrition has been a staple of Survivor Series dating back to the inaugural event in 1987. With two teams of five locked in battle, the bout only ends when an entire team has been eliminated from action.”
While some elimination tag matches at Survivor Series have been 4-on-4, this is detailing the old school way of things. In recent years, the matches have been 5-on-5, and that means The Undertaker and Kane need three more partners while the Wyatts need one more.
Now, not only would Sting showing up and wrestling at Survivor Series be huge, but there’s another legend that could be on his way too.
According to the newsletter from the Wrestling Observer , talk is now spreading that The Rock could appear at Survivor Series later this month. It’s believed he will show up just as a promotional appearance, but it could end up being worked into a program for WrestleMania 32 .
Then again, he was rumored to show up at Night of Champions too and that didn’t happen.
Still, Survivor Series would be a good time for The Rock to appear and begin a program that could build for the next four months into WrestleMania 32 in Dallas. It isn’t known who his opponent will be, but names such as Triple H and Brock Lesnar have been thrown around.
As of right now, there are only two matches in place for Survivor Series and less than two weeks of build left for WWE. Seth Rollins will take on Roman Reigns in a match for the WWE Title, and Charlotte will defend the Divas Title against Paige.
Everything else going around at this point is a bunch of rumors, but they are interesting ones nonetheless. The Rock showing up would be huge, and that’s obvious. Sting appearing and teaming up with The Undertaker and Kane to take on The Wyatt Family would not only be unexpected but make Survivor Series a true must-watch.
