Wrestling fans were thrilled when Brock Lesnar returned to WWE television since he’s been absent since right after WrestleMania 31 . Sting has also been unseen since WrestleMania 31 , but he did reappear on WWE Network on Monday night and now rumors are starting up as to when he could be back to in-ring action.
At WrestleMania 31 , Sting had his first ever match in WWE, and he ended up losing to Triple H in a match filled with interference. Since then, “The Vigilante” has not been seen and many wonder if he will ever wrestle another bout in WWE.
Well, last night after Monday Night Raw , Sting and Triple H actually sat down with Renee Young on the WWE Network for a big interview. It was mainly for the upcoming release of a new DVD called The Monday Night War Vol. 1: Shots Fired which is set for release on July 7.
Sting appeared without make-up as he sat across from Triple H in the sneak peek for the DVD, and it was a pretty great (but short) discussion.
The majority of the DVD has these interviews mixed in with some matches and flashbacks to other times from the Monday Night Wars.
During the sneak peek of the interview on Monday night, Sting and Triple H mostly talked about the DVD and not a lot more. The full interview runs for an hour and there could be much more interaction and talk between the two on the way.
One of the interesting things is that this short appearance by Sting on WWE Network has led to more rumors of Sting’s return to WWE television .
Sting is signed to a contract with WWE that does include him making appearances for the company and doing some DVD work. Still, there are many that don’t believe his in-ring career is done, and he’s even said that since WrestleMania 31 .
There is time for Sting to return and get a program started for SummerSlam which takes place near the end of August. Then again, WWE may want to hold off and let him return after that event and build toward something at Survivor Series in November.
A number of talents on the roster right now are good match-ups for Sting when he gets back into the ring. Then again, that is if he ever does get back into the ring, but a number of fans don’t believe he’s done.
Sting returning to WWE Network for the sit-down interview opposite Triple H may mean nothing as far as his in-ring future, but it does start up some rumors. Now, fans will be on the lookout as “The Vigilante” may be back before anyone realizes it.
