Survivor Series may have just taken place, but WWE is already building for their next big event which is TLC on December 13. That’s under three weeks away now, and only one match is confirmed and that’s the WWE World Heavyweight Title match between Sheamus and Roman Reigns. After last night’s SmackDown taping, one more title match has been confirmed and three more matches are likely to be announced soon, as well.
Please note that the following information will contain a lot of spoilers for this week’s episode of SmackDown, which is set to air later this week.
A Survivor Series rematch will be taking place, but this time, the Intercontinental Title will be on the line. At the taping last night, Dean Ambrose won a triple threat match that also involved Dolph Ziggler and Tyler Breeze, as reported by Wrestling Inc.
The winner got a title shot against Kevin Owens who was sitting at ringside throughout the match.
In all actuality, the Ambrose and Owens feud was set to happen earlier and culminate at Survivor Series , but then the WWE Title tournament took over. Now, they’re getting a chance to do it properly and will have their title match at TLC, with a stipulation likely being added soon.
Sheamus taking on Roman Reigns has been confirmed for TLCalready, and the Intercontinental Title match will also soon be confirmed by WWE. The WWE Title match is one that is a Tables, Ladders, & Chairs Match, and most of the other matches on the card will follow suit.
WrestleZone had the full spoilers for this week’s SmackDown, and three other matches are obviously being built for the Pay-Per-View.
The Dudley Boyz took on Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman of The Wyatt Family in a match that ended in disqualification when Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper interfered. Bubba Ray Dudley got slammed through a table while D-Von was choked out by Strowman.
This is a match that has been building since the summer, even before the Dudleys returned to WWE. Luke Harper was taunting them on Twitter, and then Erick Rowan got injured, and everything was immediately dropped.
It’s likely that a Dudley Boyz vs. Wyatt Family bout will be added to TLC, and probably as a Tables Match.
Everyone could kind of see this match coming when Zeb Colter introduced Alberto Del Rio back to WWE. Now, Del Rio has the United States Title, and Jack Swagger is not too happy about the whole “MexAmerica” thing that Del Rio and Colter have been throwing around.
On Monday Night RAW , Swagger interrupted a promo that Del Rio was giving and it set up a match between the two on SmackDown . The match didn’t last long as Del Rio got disqualified after hitting Swagger with a chair.
Look for a United States Title match between the two and Chairs being allowed as a weapon.
At the SmackDown taping, there was also a lot of interaction between The New Day, Lucha Dragons, and the Usos. It’s quite possible that there could end up being a triple threat match between the three teams for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
So, here is what’s in place so far for WWE TLC.
- WWE Title – TLC Match: Sheamus (c) vs. Roman Reigns
- Intercontinental Title Match: Kevin Owens (c) vs. Dean Ambrose
Here are the rumored matches for WWE TLC.
- WWE Tag Title Match (Ladder?): The New Day (c) vs. Lucha Dragons vs. The Usos
- United States Title – Chairs Match: Alberto Del Rio (c) vs. Jack Swagger
- Tables Match: The Dudley Boyz vs. The Wyatt Family
That makes five matches for the WWE TLC card, but there are usually at least six or seven. One or two more matches should end up being added, but it’s already building up to be a good event. The new title match between Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens could end up stealing the show.
