WWE Battleground is coming up and fans can enjoy all the mayhem in a little over a week, but there are many things up in the air. Some believe that Brock Lesnar is going to easily win back the WWE Title from Seth Rollins in the main event. Others believe that the feud is going to continue over until SummerSlam so they can have one more match.
If things were going to be fair and it would be a one-on-one match, it is rather understood that Lesnar would simply demolish Rollins. The match would be one of Lesnar/Kofi-at- Beast-in-the-East proportions.
The problem is this likely isn’t going to be a fair match with The Authority lurking around.
Even though the match isn’t a “No Disqualification” or “Street Fight,” The Authority is going to get involved in one way or another. Look for Kane or at least J&J Security to interfere on the side of Seth Rollins.
Now, this is where things get confusing.
For some time now, rumors have had Triple H taking on Seth Rollins at SummerSlam , and it would be a bit of a mentor/student-type battle. That seemed to be the way that WWE was heading when The Authority brought Lesnar back.
Now, there are some rumors going around that Brock Lesnar actually won’t end up winning the WWE Title at Battleground . He could still pick up a victory, but Cageside Seats doesn’t believe he will end up winning the belt so it could have J&J Security causing a disqualification or something.
Here are the two likely scenarios for Battleground and the following weeks:
A) Seth Rollins gets a shady victory or Lesnar wins but doesn’t get the title at Battleground , and it keeps the feud going. This would lead to even more build-up and another match for the WWE Title at SummerSlam .
B) Lesnar wins the title at Battleground , and moves onto another feud. His next big opponent is rumored to be Roman Reigns, who has been built back up again in recent weeks, but The Wrestling Observer thinks that will be held off for a while.
Fans may not be ready for another Lesnar/Reigns feud, and chances are Reigns’ career couldn’t survive being demolished again.
Brock Lesnar could go in a number of different ways once WWE Battleground gets here, but rumors are mixed right now. Seth Rollins could stay in the middle of the WWE Title battle or Lesnar could move on to the next one.
