WWE Rumors: Dean Ambrose Getting A Match At ‘Battleground’ Or Getting Involved In Big Angle

Last month, Dean Ambrose was in the main event of Money In The Bank and took on Seth Rollins for the WWE Title. This month, he doesn’t even have a match scheduled for Battleground , but that doesn’t mean we won’t see the “Lunatic Fringe.” Rumor has it that Ambrose will either get a match or have a big part to play at Sunday’s pay-per-view.

Ambrose has shown his face here and there in the past month, but he hasn’t really been a part of anything. Some thought he may be thrown into the feud between Sheamus and Randy Orton, but that isn’t happening.

WrestleZone actually believes that talk is going on that he could get a match against Kane added to the Battleground card. With no Divas match and the status of the Intercontinental Title match unknown, that would give them plenty of time to have a quick 10-minute match.

Kane had been written out of storylines recently after being attacked by Brock Lesnar and was “said” to have a broken ankle. Ambrose and Kane really have no connection right now either so it could be added as a filler-match only.

As of this time, WWE has officially listed six matches for the event on Sunday.

  • WWE Title: Seth Rollins vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt
  • Sheamus vs. Randy Orton
  • U.S. Title: John Cena vs. Kevin Owens
  • Tag Titles: The Prime Time Players vs. The New Day
  • Kickoff: R-Truth vs. King Barrett

The Huffington Post believes that even if Ambrose doesn’t have a match at Battleground , he’s going to get on the show. Rumor has it that he will get involved in either the WWE Title match or the match between Reigns and Wyatt.

Now, the interesting thing with either of those matches is that they both include former members of The Shield . Reigns and Ambrose had rekindled a friendship of sorts in the past couple of months, but that stopped since the last PPV.

Since last month, the feud between Ambrose and Rollins was seemingly done and over with for the time being. If Ambrose does stick his nose in the main event, it would be interesting to see if he is the “ huge swerve ” being rumored for that match between Rollins and Lesnar.

Could this lead to a partnership between Rollins and Ambrose to get one up on Lesnar? Would Reigns join them in taking down the “Beast Incarnate?”

WWE Battleground is actually turning into one of the more intriguing events this year with a lot of rumors swirling around including the return of The Undertaker and/or Sting . Now, it looks as if Dean Ambrose could play a hand in something big on Sunday and it may lead to some fun times.
