It’s still more than a month until the next big pay-per-view (PPV) for WWE, and that’s a big change from having three in a matter of a month and a half. Only two matches have been confirmed for WWE Battleground , and they are big ones, but rumors are swirling on a number of other matches that could take place.

Right now, it is looking like Sheamus and Randy Orton will be battling it out in a match , per the Gospel Herald , but they could have one more competitor joining the fray. After the events of Monday Night Raw , it looks like Dean Ambrose will be the next man in.

There have been some slight whispers that the WWE title contract briefcase could be on the line, but that remains to be seen.

It’s possible that another triple threat match will end up on the card for WWE Battleground too, and it would be for the Intercontinental Title. Bleacher Report states that Ryback could put the title on the line against The Miz and Big Show.

One thing remains to be seen though, and that’s if those three can somehow keep the feud interesting for another four weeks of build-up.

John Cena and Kevin Owens are likely going to have a third match since they are tied at one match a piece. Expect that rubber match to happen, but not until SummerSlam as WWE may want that feud to continue through the summer.

It’s rumored that Paige could be bringing up an NXT diva to the main roster with her “ Change Is Coming ” storyline. This would lead to a tag-team match against the Bella Twins, and rumors have Paige’s partner being either Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, or Becky Lynch.

The two confirmed matches came right after Money In The Bank was over, and they’re pretty big ones.

Bray Wyatt is finally back in a big-time feud, and this one could go either way, but it appears as if WWE is pushing Roman Reigns again. Already, Wyatt is looking overly creepy and strong in this one, but it seems as if Reigns is heading back up into the main event scene.

The other big match is the main event which has Brock Lesnar’s return to the WWE title scene against Seth Rollins. It is expected that Lesnar will go on to take the title back and move onto something else, but possibly a feud against The Shield who may reunite.

Once all is said and done, you can expect at least seven matches to be on the final WWE Battleground card. Brock Lesnar taking on Seth Rollins is the main event, and Bray Wyatt is finally back in a big-time feud with Roman Reigns. Rumors have some other good matches possibly coming, but word from WWE needs to come first.
