WWE News: WWE Teases ‘WrestleMania 33’ Return For Goldberg In A Match That Fans Will Hate

Published on: April 20, 2016 at 9:46 PM

For the past two years, and probably much longer, there have been rumors that Bill Goldberg would be returning to WWE. That obviously has not happened. Leading up to WrestleMania 32 , the rumors heated up big time and then he didn’t end up showing at that event either. It’s totally expected that unless he returns, the rumors will begin again for the time leading up to WrestleMania 33 in Orlando next year, but no one thought it would be WWE starting them.

A video was posted on WWE that showcased the top six things the website editors would like to see at WrestleMania 33 . There are some extremely interesting things throughout, and maybe most of them are simply the editors dreaming and hoping, but the last one is the most interesting.

In the video, Bill Goldberg is mentioned all of a sudden, and he hasn’t been in WWE since wrestling his last match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XX in 2004. It’s a match that will live on in infamy, and it was actually the last time he stepped in the ring for a match.

Now, the video is saying that they would love to see Goldberg return next year for WrestleMania 33in Orlando and see him have a match. It goes on to say that he very well could make a return to WWE and be successful because after all, it worked for Brock Lesnar.

The video makes some really good points, but then it gets into the idea of who Goldberg could possibly have as his opponent at WrestleMania 33 . It may not be one that the fans generally like, and actually, they’d probably hate it, but it’s suggested that it could be Roman Reigns .

If something actually happens over the course of the next year and WWE does bring back Goldberg, it may not be the best idea to pit him against Roman Reigns.

The way things are going right now, Reigns is one of the most hated wrestlers in all of WWE. Fans do not care for him and don’t like him as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He is booed out of every single building he walks into, and they’re just done with having him shoved at them.

Sports Illustrated even spoke with Jake “The Snake” Roberts recently, and he spoke about Reigns and the way WWE is treating him as a superstar. Roberts does not believe that the push that Reigns is being given is the right way to do things.

“They’re shoving Roman down everybody’s throat, and that’s not working too well. It’s a shame, because he’s a great athlete and a great guy, but they went at it the wrong way. It doesn’t look like I’m going to get the opportunity to help any of these guys, though I wish I would. I’m more than available, but they’ve got their little formula they want to stick with.”

Roman Reigns is very talented in the ring even though he’s not great on the mic. Many just feel that WWE is going about things the wrong way with how they’re pushing him to the moon, and the fans are done with him.

By now, fans would likely have forgotten about what happened with the way Goldberg left the company after WrestleMania XX. They obviously have forgiven Brock Lesnar as he’s one of the most popular superstars in the world. Goldberg coming back to WWE would be a huge deal, and the fans would love it.

The possibility for it to happen is there as Goldberg and Triple H even had a face-to-face talk last year, but nothing came out of it.

Bill Goldberg returning to WWE? The possibility is there, and it very well could happen one day, but time is growing short with each passing year. Goldberg isn’t getting any younger, but he’s in good shape now and thinks that a deal could be made that is respectful to both sides. Now, the promotion is teasing him having a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 , and it may be more than just a dream of the WWE editors.
