As soon as Bray Wyatt begins to speak, the whole WWE world stops and listens to the eater of worlds. His band of brothers, the Wyatt Family, listen intently at their leader’s verbiage during every backstage or in-ring promo. Something about Wyatt makes the world stop. If it isn’t the way he speaks, it’s his mannerisms and diction that slow down time.
Wyatt is a special breed of WWE superstar. Nobody will see him lifting weights, whining after a loss, crying to the WWE fans, or even sign autographs in-character. Wyatt is special and the WWE needs to realize that. After excellent feuds with Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, and the Shield, Wyatt deserves to be in the WWE title picture.
Somebody needs to tell the WWE what kind of monster heel they truly have. As of right now, there is no clear direction for Wyatt, and the potential for a babyface turn is imminent.
Bray Wyatt is not advertised to compete this Sunday at Night of Champions. If this stands, it would mark the first time since Hell in a Cell that he has not competed on a WWE pay-per-view event.
This may seem like an alarming sign, but it’s not — Wyatt has already feuded with every top babyface in WWE.
Wyatt was recently matched with Big Show because WWE’s creative department doesn’t have major plans for either competitor. There is concern among people in WWE that he could be lost in the shuffle. To rectify this, it is said that he could turn babyface.
At first glance, it sounds like a cruel joke. Wyatt is the best wrestler on the microphone and a top wrestler for the company. You’re meaning to tell me that WWE Creative can’t come up with anything for Wyatt? If that isn’t pure laziness and complacency, then something topping that is out of my reach.
It was announced earlier in the month that Wyatt’s next feud could be for the Intercontinental championship, and Dolph Ziggler would play the role of protagonist. No matter who won that feud, the potential for gold promos and five-star wrestling matches would be at a premium. Both can talk and both can wrestle. What more does the WWE want in a program?
Clearly, displaying top-notch microphone work and stellar wrestling isn’t enough to convince the WWE Creative staff to work harder. If that’s the constant pattern to start with Wyatt, just tell Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins that Creative can’t come up with stories for either man. Add Bryan to that list, because his return will warrant a great antagonist. If it sounds like I’m frustrated, then you’re on the money.
Bray Wyatt is this generation’s Undertaker. In no way am I comparing their accolades, but rather the atmosphere they bring to the table, as well as the look. WWE has a future Hall of Fame wrestler with Wyatt. Just like Punk, let him write his own feud. I’m sure it will be better than what the WWE comes up with.
