WWE News: WWE Considering A Lawsuit Against CM Punk For Breach Of Contract?

Amid all the CM Punk news and his hatred towards WWE, there could be more serious sanctions that lie in the future for the Straight Edge Superstar. After Punk left the WWE in January, the WWE Universe kept an open mind as to what the pro wrestling giant would do to Punk. Obviously, there would be action taken against him right?

The original report came out yesterday afternoon that the WWE is not happy with the way his walkout all went down. The Wrestling Observer, the most reputable wrestling publication on the internet, reported possible action could take place. That was the extent of the knowledge floating around the WWE Universe. However, an update came out that would be very bad news for Punk.

Dave Meltzer and the Wrestling Observer then provided a bombshell that would be a ground-breaking announcement for the WWE to provide the masses.

“While nothing is official at this point, there is at least some talk going around the company regarding a possible lawsuit against Punk for breach of contract.

There aren’t a lot of specific details regarding this story as of right now, however it is known that there are many people very high up in WWE who are less than pleased with how everything went down with Punk.”

I’m not confident the WWE has ever sued a wrestler for breach of contract. If that does come to pass, that would be the charge against Phil Brooks. To clarify , breach of contract is the failing to perform any term of a contract, written or oral, without a legitimate legal excuse.

That includes not completing a job, not paying in full or on time, failure to deliver all the goods, substituting inferior or significantly different goods, not providing a bond when required, being late without excuse, or any act which shows the party will not complete the work.

CM Punk did indeed fail to complete a job, not deliver all the goods, be late without excuse and provided an “anticipatory breach.” Some had a feeling that a situation like this could be realistic eventually. Now, it looks like the WWE will sue Punk. If it does happen, what does that say about him burning those bridges to the ground?

If he ever wanted to make an emphatic WWE return, there would have to be peacemakers at the meeting and make sure the two didn’t throw punches. Of course, all seem to be very mature and would never succumb to such juvenile actions. This situation just took a turn for the worst.

Another theoretical “stab to the heart,” occurred when Punk said he would never wrestle again. What is the WWE supposed to think after he made a blatant statement? This couldn’t have all come about from a sentence uttered on a red carpet, that may have been propaganda to begin with.

The future is unknown for WWE and CM Punk. We’ll continue to update you on the situation as it transpires. One thing is for sure; this could get very ugly, very fast.
