The Undertaker’s WrestleMania win streak is now over. The decision to end “The Streak” was made recently by Vince McMahon and The Undertaker, and it was thought to really go over big to the WWE Universe. Of course WWE seemed to get the reaction they wanted; utter shock and dismay.
It seems however, that Vince McMahon was not happy about the reaction the Superdome gave to it all. Obviously he knew that people would be shocked and overly stunned by the loss that no one seemed to see coming other than creative and the players involved. Hell, even the referee didn’t know the outcome of the match. Talk about a freak out when he counted to three, right?
Officials wanted a more appropriate reaction to the send off of The Undertaker. The fans chanted for The Undertaker and thanked him after the shock of his loss was over. On top of that, it seemed several media outlets spoke of the streak ending. So WWE got a ton of coverage for it and everyone is still talking about it.
I am not certain why Vince McMahon , seeing and knowing all of this, was unsatisfied.
One would imagine that people talking a week later about a match would be ideal. Most companies would kill to be spoken of for a week’s time in this type of world. The Undertaker was hurt during the match and did, in fact, leave to go to the hospital afterward. Vince McMahon even went with The Deadman. This shows the friendship and bond he has with Taker.
Brock Lesnar , the man who beat The Streak has pretty much left the company until WWE has a use for him. Obviously his manager Paul Heyman has a new client in Cesaro. This pretty much means that Lesnar is not going to be back for a while. One would imagine that when he comes back, he will go after the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
For now though, it seems that Vince McMahon will never really be satisfied about how The Streak ended. So will he be against using this for Lesnar in storylines in the future?
WWE has a lot of potential with Brock Lesnar after he beat The Streak. WWE could have used a younger guy to end it, which would have allowed that man to use that for storylines in the future that would have basically “made” them. Lesnar winning was fine if they use his streak win to his advantage. Otherwise, what was the use?
For now, it seems Vince will never find himself satisfied with what happened after the streak ended. However, he cannot go back on it. What happened has happened in the WWE, and like it or not, we have what we have today. That being said, I feel WWE will be interesting once again at WrestleMania because there is not a guarantee anymore. Matches such as The Undertaker’s cannot happen again. We will always wonder as well, could there be another streak? Will that end before too long as well? Time will tell.
