The WWE RAW after WrestleMania is always hot. It has become a tradition to bring big names in or call up developmental talent the last number of years on this night. Whether it was the return of Brock Lesnar or RVD to the debut of Paige….the night after WrestleMania is always a fun show and often times it competes with the greatness of Mania. This year, we had the opportunity to see both Neville and The Lucha Dragons make their main roster debut.
Neville worked a singles match against Curtis Axel where he showed off a lot. Meanwhile the Dragons worked an 8-man tag match where NXT favorite Kalisto showed off a lot and got the pin. However, many fans were a bit disappointed at the end of the night. Many wanted to see NXT favorite Finn Balor make his debut. In fact, the crowd cheered for him, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens among other NXT stars during the show.
Apparently, it is not only fans that want to see people like Finn Balor make his main roster debut. Many within WWE want him to as well. According to Cageside Seats , WWE executives want to call Balor up as quickly as possible because the feeling is that he is making far too much money to be wasted on NXT and not used on the main roster.
As we know by now, WWE had to give a good offer to Balor for him to jump from NJPW where he was a major star. WWE was able to give him the role he wanted as well as help him become a better star than he already was. On top of this, they offered him a good pay and both sides agreed that he would not work WWE developmental for very long.
This is why there is a lot of people believing that WWE was okay with offering him good money right off, because they knew he wouldn’t be in NXT long. Balor has been on NXT since late 2014. So there is a thought that we could see him there for a few more months and make his debut in the summer. While ideally, RAW this week would have been best for him….other stars like Kalisto and Adrian Neville have been with WWE longer and deserved the call-up first.
Finn Balor is becoming massively popular and has moved merchandise well along with NXT Champion, Kevin Owens. It is thought that once Owens loses his NXT Title, his main roster debut won’t be far behind. Meanwhile Balor may work with some of the incoming talent to help them get established then jump up. WWE has a star in Balor, and Vince McMahon is a big fan, so we shouldn’t expect him to be in NXT for too long.
