WWE News: The Undertaker Working Backstage Proves He Isn’t Retired

In April of 2014, a legend experienced a moment like none other. At WrestleMania 30, the Undertaker lost to the Brock Lesnar to relinquish his undefeated streak at WrestleMania. He was 21 and zero heading into the Superdome. Every other match before was spectacular and purely exciting to watch. The WWE did everything right with the Phenom. Adults loved him, kids loved him, and above all else, nobody wanted him to lose.

However, all good things eventually come to an end, and it looked like after his unfortunate loss, the Deadman will be done wrestling for good. While Taker is not ruling out a return at WrestleMania 31, a comeback match against another living legend doesn’t look promising. All the WWE Universe can do is hope for a return from a future WWE Hall of Fame wrestler.

Amidst the pessimism surrounding his supposed retirement, the Undertaker is not gone from wrestling — if he ever will be until the day he dies. Wrestlezone.com is reporting that Taker will be involved with the WWE is a backstage capacity.

According to PWInsider.com, The Undertaker , who was visiting the WWE Performance Center this week, attended last night’s WWE NXT TV taping and told people he will be assisting the developmental program as an “advisor.”

The word going around backstage in WWE is that ‘Taker will be visiting the Center in Orlando on a limited basis to help out and offer advice.

This will be a win-win for the company, because Undertaker is arguably the most successful WWE superstar in history. Think back to all of his matches on Raw or SmackDown in the latter part of his career. He never lost a singles’ match. If anyone wants to prove me wrong, check his record from 2008 through 2014 and witness the greatness that is the Undertaker.

His mere aura will continue on with professional wrestling until it reaches his extinction. The Phenom’s wrestling mind surpasses that of many in today’s industry. Not many guys can do what he did — in fact, nobody has. Taker’s wrestling IQ is above 160, if it were calculated. Nobody could pull off his character quite like he did. Sure, the era of wrestling he debuted in helped out for sure.

One of the underrated things Taker did was evolve with the times. In the early 2000s, Undertaker created the biker gimmick, which persevered. There are many faces of the Undertaker that always succeeded in whatever era of wrestling he performed in. Mark Calaway will continue to give back to the WWE and never think twice about it. Despite what people think about the Undertaker’s health, he’s doing just fine with his wife, Michelle McCool, in Texas with their family. Every wrestler wants to retire early and be happy, right? The Undertaker is doing just that, and more.
