Alberto Del Rio quit the WWE last month and his girlfriend Paige just picked up her second suspension since August for failing the WWE wellness policy. Interestingly, despite all the controversy surrounding Paige and the WWE, it sounds like her fans haven’t seen the last of her. TMZ Sports caught up with Alberto Del Rio and Paige in New York City and Paige said that she will be back in the WWE.
Paige said that she wouldn’t talk about her incident with the WWE and then clarified that she couldn’t talk about it any more than she already has. However, she then said that she will be back in the WWE because she has no choice. Alberto Del Rio then added that she is under contract and joked that the WWE contract locked her up for “like 39 years.”
This has been a week of huge controversy for Paige and the WWE. Paige had already announced that she was going to have surgery to fix the pain that she has been in for the last year. After that, the WWE announced that Paige failed her second wellness drug test since August and is now facing a 60-day suspension.
However, Paige went to Twitter and posted that she was suspended for taking a doctor-prescribed medication and told people not to follow doctor’s orders in the WWE or they will suspend you. As the Inquisitr reported, Paige’s dad went to Facebook next and said the WWE suspended Paige for taking prescription painkillers for an injury that they were not treating properly.

“My daughter has had a long term neck injury which imo has not been dealt with. i have ask my daughter to return to UK For help with this injury as help and direction in the USA Has not been forthcoming imo. She has been in pain and out of in ring action for a fair while now and has been prescribed pain killers which apparently is against the wellness program.”
Paige’s father Ricky Knight, who owns his own wrestling promotion in the U.K., said that Paige is coming back home because the U.S. health care system failed his daughter. That caused the WWE to respond, saying that those statements were not accurate, that they treated her with the doctors possible, and that she failed the drug test due to illegal drugs.

This war of words between Paige, her family, Alberto Del Rio, and the WWE makes some wonder if she will ever wrestle in a WWE ring again. From the sound of this interview, Paige believes that she has no choice. Of course, if Paige fails a third wellness violation test, the WWE has no choice but to release her based on their own policy.

This doesn’t seem like it is what Paige is looking forward to. When asked if she would return to the wrestling ring, Paige said that she plans to wrestle for a long time because she loves it. There were some WWE rumors over the summer that the surgery that Paige needs might end her career. Based on this interview, it sounds like she is optimistic that she will return.
One thing that Paige did say is that she hopes that 2017 will treat her better than 2016. Fans should expect Paige back in the WWE when her surgery is finished and she is recovered. The 60-day WWE suspension is likely to be nothing compared to the time she needs off to heal. Until then, Paige said she will go anywhere that Alberto Del Rio goes and figure out her future at that time.
