The Night of Champions pay-per-view was a total success from a business standpoint. Dolph Ziggler and the Miz nearly stole the show in their Intercontinental Championship match. Gold and Stardust threw their bodies around to excite the fans in the WWE Tag-Team championship match against the Usos. Don’t forget about Paige vs. AJ Lee and Nikki Bella that took place right before the main event.
Even though Bella can’t wrestle, or talk, or really do anything, Paige and Lee did their part to extend their feud for at least a few months. Both divas are starting to make the Diva’s division relevant in the public eye as well. They kept the crowd hot for the main event.
Brock Lesnar and John Cena had a different feeling than the first match. Instead of Lesnar demolishing his opponent, Cena made it seem like a real fight. Seth Rollins wanted to cash in but ended up ruining the ending. On one hand, it sets up a good feud between Rollins and Cena. As for Lesnar, it is unknown where he’ll go from here. Weeks ago, it was reported that Lesnar would face the Big Show in his next feud. As of last night, Lesnar’s future is quite unknown.
According to PWInsider.com , Paul Heyman was not used on Raw last night as WWE has yet to figure out how/if they want to use Brock Lesnar at Hell in a Cell.
As of this morning, Brock Lesnar vs John Cena at Hell in a Cell is not being planned, which is likely why Heyman did not appear on Raw last night and discuss Brock Lesnar moving forward.
Coming out of Raw last night, there are reportedly no matches planned at this time for Hell in a Cell, so it’s likely we won’t hear anything announced for the PPV until Raw next week at the earliest.
Perhaps it is too early to judge if Lesnar will appear at Hell in a Cell. After all, it’s only been a day and a half since Night of Champions. While the potential for Lesnar vs. Cena III is still hot, Show doesn’t fit well into the equation. He has been Mark Henry’s cheerleader against Rusev the past few weeks. Going after Lesnar wouldn’t make any sense.
Another rematch against Cena, inside a steel cage, would probably be best for business. The Beast Incarnate would finish Cena for good and then move on to someone tougher, or just larger. The WWE needs to keep on moving, even though Roman Reigns will be out of action for several weeks. Questions need to be answered next week on Monday Night Raw.
