In what can only be described as a very weird story, it seems that Jersey Shore star Snooki loved her match with WWE so much at WrestleMania 27 that she wants to return to the company. Snooki wrestled in a 6-person tag team match at WrestleMania and came away impressing people with her athletic ability. Many were against the move originally as Jersey Shore has always been a train wreck, and while their fans are passionate over the show, the people who do not watch want nothing to do with it.
Vince McMahon seems to like the odd, and thus he wanted to get Snooki in for the event.
She did well, but it seems that she feels she can be an even bigger part of WWE. She recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s “Talk is Jericho” podcast stating:
“I’m actually begging [Vince McMahon] to go back because I want to wrestle more.”
When asked about being pregnant with her second child, she said:
“Just having more muscle and being more flexible, I feel like can do more moves in the ring. It was such a fun experience that I would definitely go back for more.”
Of course, WrestleMania 27 was over 3 years ago and we have not seen her since. However, the WWE managed to get a ton of press for that event. Not only was it a return for The Rock to the WWE, but Trish Stratus as well…. who happened to be in the match with Snooki. Obviously WWE did very well at the event; all involved were good on the show. So it would make sense to think WWE might take the plunge and bring Snooki back.
The issue is, however, that the Jersey Shore seems to be old hat. The flavor of the week that was the Jersey Shore is now sour, and Snooki is a mom with “priorities,” not the party girl that the fans saw her as on the show.
While we can more than assume the characters and events on the show are exaggerated, it’s the fact that she is no longer who she once was that hurts her. Kind of sad to bring that sort of thing up because, honestly, she’s gotten better. WWE most likely does not see money in her anymore. Now that the Shore is no longer really a big deal, Snooki isn’t by proxy. Therefore, WWE does not need her and would most likely not bring her back despite how well she did at the WrestleMania 27 event.
Snooki can beg Vince McMahon until she’s blue in the face, sadly the Chairman may not bend on bringing her back to the WWE. If Snooki makes her way into another very popular show with a niche audience that WWE can attract, then I’m sure McMahon will be the first to call her up. Until then, I don’t foresee her being back any time soon.
