WWE News: Huge Main Event Scheduled For ‘Survivor Series’ Pay-Per-View

A huge attraction is about to make its return to the WWE. It’s been a long-time coming too, because the WWE needs something to spark the crowd and branch off of Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Monday Night Raw did provide some excitement as well. For example, Randy Orton’s mic skills looked fantastic. Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt are on the path to a memorable feud and John Cena is set to take on the boss, again.

In the first 15 minutes of Raw, the Authority opened the show and let Seth Rollins brag about his victory at Hell in a Cell over Ambrose. Even though Wyatt came in and sabotaged the finish, Rollins didn’t care. Rollins went on to talk about how Orton is a loser and couldn’t finish off Cena when it mattered.

Orton ran to the ring in full-frustration and cut a promo that was quick, to the point and pure greatness. Orton RKO’d the “standard bearer of the WWE” and went home. This will ultimately lead to a feud with Rollins, but it won’t happen quite yet. What will happen first is the big news that Triple H announced last night with his wife, Stephanie McMahon and John Cena in the ring. Be prepared to witness a tradition come back at Survivor Series.

Stephanie McMahon announced on tonight’s RAW that the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November will feature a traditional elimination match.

It will be Team Cena vs. Team Authority. We’ll have more on the match later.

Let me preface the above statements, because the Survivor Series traditional tag-team matches never actually left. This is the first year since 2006 that it actually matters and will most-likely main event the pay-per-view. The last the a Survivor Series traditional tag-team match was the main-event came back in 2005 , when Team Smackdown defeated Team Raw.

Top-guys from both brands participated in that match, making it mean something. Last year’s tag match was Team Total Divas vs. Team True Divas. Not to be cruel, but nobody wants to watch that. They would rather see Team Cena vs. Team Authority in the main event of Survivor Series.

Judging by the cover of the poster, Seth Rollins will be heavily featured in this year’s pay-per-view. As of right now, Team Cena includes John Cena and Dolph Ziggler. Team Authority’s lineup includes Seth Rollins and Kane. Here are a few options that the WWE have on both sides.

  • Team Cena: Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, the Uso’s, Ryback, and Randy Orton.
  • Team Authority: Gold and Stardust, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, Cesaro.

They haven’t announced the amount of participants in the match yet, but it will end up being 5-on-5, most likely. In that case, Team Cena could include Cena, Ziggler, Randy Orton, Ryback and Roman Reigns. Team Authority then would throw Kane, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt, Rusev and a random heel on their team. It won’t make a difference who it is.

There is also the possibility that Ambrose and Wyatt will wrestle each other at Survivor Series, taking both men out of the equation. WWE has more than enough time to figure out the number of combatants and which ones will dawn the colors of each team. At least the match will be relevant this year, that’s the best news in this story.
