The world has been waiting for the return of Bill Goldberg to WWE ever since he left the company back in 2004. At times, it has seemed as if he would come back for another run, but nothing ever worked out. Now, Goldberg has said he would “seriously consider” returning to WWE for one more match.
That is, as long as it is with the right person.
According to WrestleZone , Goldberg is planning on making a special appearance at the Magic City Comic Con on Saturday. The event will be held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, and also see a lot of other stars from sports, movies, and television in attendance.
The 48-year-old Goldberg is in the best shape of his life, according to him, and he could still go at it with anyone. In order for him to “seriously consider” one more match though, it would have to be against a particular person.
“If it was left up to me creatively, and with creative control, I think the dream match would be me and [Steve] Austin. That was the dream match 10 years ago, 15 years ago. Would it be a reality now? Probably not.”
Yes, Goldberg wants to fight “The Rattlesnake,” who has also said in the past couple of years that he’s also in the best shape of his life.
Stone Cold Steve Austin has also been rumored to have a match at WrestleMania 31 in March, and some have even thought he would face off with John Cena. So far, those have been nothing but rumors and Austin has even said he won’t be wrestling at the event.
As the conversation continued, Goldberg already had admitted that he thinks a match with Austin is out of the questions. Curiosity remains, though, to see if there’s anyone at all in WWE he would come back to have one more match against, per Fansided .
“Is there anyone on the current roster? I’d go with anybody. It doesn’t matter.”
It may not be an interesting thought for Goldberg to just step in the ring with anyone, but at least he isn’t ruling it out entirely.
All of this indicates that Goldberg really would get back in a WWE ring for another match, but he doesn’t care who it is. Now, if it were Steve Austin, that may fully entice him to step back through the smoke and pyro to get back in the ring.
