WWE News: Chris Jericho Was Brought Back Due To Daniel Bryan Injury?

While it might seem weird to think that WWE would randomly pluck one of their top stars from the past out of the woodwork simply because one of their top stars at the time is out due to another potential neck surgery, that seems to be the case. According to the Wrestling Observer, the WWE knew that Daniel Bryan’s neck was not healing right. WWE was as informed on Bryan’s neck as Bryan himself in fact. Due to this, they realized that they might lose him for a while.

Thus, WWE was said to have brought Chris Jericho back this week on WWE RAW in a surprise return. Many might find this report to be a bit off, as WWE seemed to hint at Jericho’s return over a month ago when WWE Magazine hinted that he would be in the Money in the Bank ladder match. Before you consider the Magazine to have some sort of random editorial involving MITB, they also hinted at a Shield break-up in the same issue.

Most felt that Jericho would be back sometime, so it is not all that shocking that he came back when he did as most expected him earlier than that.

While RAW also had the returns of The Miz and AJ Lee, Jericho is the real return WWE needed. The Observer claims that Jericho would be a big help due to the loss of Bryan. Bryan is expected to get another neck surgery and be out potentially until the end of the year.

Jericho wanted to work with Bray Wyatt whenever he returned to the WWE, which is why he was attacked by them on Monday Night RAW. Jericho claimed that he actually drove from around the Boston area to Hartford, Conn. so that fans would not know he was flying into the Connecticut airport. From there he arrived in private and hid on a bus until he came out to interrupt The Miz.

Bryan is expected to be back by some point in 2015, if not slightly before. Currently, it is unknown when Jericho will leave. However, he does have Fozzy commitments as well as other projects that he will have to attend to at some point. When Jericho is with WWE , he does not work TV tapings like a Brock Lesnar for example, but rather works several house shows as well. So when he is back, he is back full-time. This is why Jericho would simply not come back if he could not commit to doing those same things.

That means too that if he has to say goodbye for a bit from time to time, he will do it. However, that does mean he will be back in the WWE whenever he has the time to commit to it. Whether or not Bryan will be ready to return or WWE will have the opportunity to create another star before Jericho leaves again is yet to be determined.
