Note: The following contains spoilers for both WWE Main Event and WWE Superstars , which first aired on Hulu Plus on June 22 and June 24.
As the WWE Universe continues to process everything that has happened since WWE Money in the Bank 2016 one week ago, they must already prepare for next month’s WWE Battleground 2016 . All three members of The Shield have now held the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, as the title went from Roman Reigns to Seth Rollins to Dean Ambrose in a matter of minutes. Despite that storyline being the focal point of both Monday Night RAW and WWE SmackDown , the happenings were rehashed on both Main Event and WWE Superstars this week. Of course, John Cena’s current feud with The Club was highlighted on WWE’s Hulu-exclusive programming as well.
On this week’s WWE Superstars , the WWE’s tag team division is put on display, as The Ascension battle Golden Truth and The Dudley Boyz have a match against The Lucha Dragons. They also aired several recaps of the events that unfolded at WWE Monday Night RAW .
Meanwhile, on Main Event , The Ascension were in action again, this time against the hottest team of the New Era, Enzo and Big Cass. Fellow NXT call-up Baron Corbin goes one-on-one with Zack Ryder, while Dolph Ziggler provides guest commentary. And the show finished with United States Champion Rusev, with special introduction by Lana, against Sin Cara.
WWE Main Event results
This episode was taped in Tuscon, Arizona, on June 21. Tom Phillips and David Otunga provided ringside commentary, and Greg Hamilton was the ring announcer.

- Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated The Ascension after they hit the Bada Boom Shakalaka (7:30). Enzo and Big Cass had the crowd on their feet before the match even started, a good way to kick-off Main Event .
- A recap was shown of the WWE’s recent announcement in China, given by John Cena, that PPTV was a corporate sponsor of WWE, and that WWE had signed their first Chinese national athlete, Bin Wong.
- Baron Corbin defeated Sin Cara after he hit the End of Days (4:40). Kalisto was not at ringside to support his Lucha Dragons teammate, and the brevity of the match indicates where the masked luchadore ranks compared to recent NXT call-up Baron Corbin.
- A RAW Rebound is shown, recapping the match between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns on Monday Night RAW to determine the No. 1 contender for Dean Ambrose’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship. When the match ended in a double count-out, Shane McMahon announced that Ambrose would defend the title against Rollins and Reigns in a Triple Threat Match at WWE Battleground 2016 .
- WWE United States Champion Rusev (accompanied by Lana) made Zack Ryder tap out using The Accolade (9:45). Dolph Ziggler was on guest commentary, but it didn’t appear as though he’ll be working a program with either of these competitors in the near future, although he would be a conceivable opponent for Rusev to work with again now that he has regained the US title.

WWE Superstars results
This episode was taped in Phoenix, Arizona, on June 20, just before WWE Monday Night RAW aired live on the USA Network. Tom Phillips and David Otunga provided ringside commentary, and Greg Hamilton was the ring announcer.

- The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) defeated The Ascension after R-Truth hit the Lie Detector on Konnor and scored the pinfall (4:15). Now that Konnor has returned to in-ring competition, it looks like The Ascension have returned to tag team jobber duty.
- A recap was shown of AJ Styles vs. John Cena at WWE Money in the Bank 2016 and the pseudo-apology from The Club the following night on Monday Night RAW . It set up John Cena vs. Karl Anderson for late on RAW , and the results of that match (and the post-match beat-down handed to the leader of the Cenation by all three members of the The Club) were shown as well.
- The Lucha Dragons defeated The Dudley Boyz after D-Von Dudley was a victim of the Dragon Bomb (7:40). It was a fairly competitive match, and the second tag team match of the night was used to help promote the extremely hot tag team division of the WWE.
- After recapping the Money in the Bank Ladder Match from Sunday’s MITB event, they also recapped the Money in the Bank main event, when Rollins defeated Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Of course, they also showed Dean Ambrose cashing in the MITB contract to leave Sunday’s WWE special as the new world champion. Superstars ended by recapping what happened on Monday Night RAW between all three former members of The Shield, setting up the Triple Threat Match for Battleground 2016 .
