The world of professional wrestling is full of stories about wrestlers showing up to events in no condition to wrestle. Videos in the past have shown former WWE superstars such as Scott Hall and Jake “The Snake” Roberts intoxicated during independent wrestling matches. Based on a promoter for RCW in Canada, this happened just last weekend with former TNA Impact Wrestling owner Jeff Jarrett.

Jeff Jarrett Allegedly Drunk At Wrestling Event

Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that promoter Steven Ewaschuki of Canadian wrestling promotion RCW said that Jeff Jarrett showed up at a Friday night show in Calgary and was drinking in the locker room before the show. When Jarrett’s music started to bring him out, he didn’t show up.

According to Ewaschuki, Jarrett passed out in the locker room after excessive drinking. The promoter also said that they had to wake up Jarrett to come out for pictures at intermission. While they were allegedly trying to get Jeff up for the match, his opponent got on the microphone and stalled for 10 minutes, actually telling the fans that Jarrett was upstairs getting drunk.

Ewaschuki said that Jeff Jarrett insisted on wrestling anyway. The match was supposed to last 20 minutes and a video of the match itself surfaced of the match itself. At the end of the match, Jarrett was clearly annoyed with something and argued with someone all the way to the back.

Jeff Jarrett was also supposed to wrestle the next night for RCW in Edmonton. Ewaschuki said that he paid Jeff what he was owed and expressed displeasure in the situation. He assumed Jarrett was showing up the next night for the booked match but he never showed up at the card.

Jeff Jarrett denies the allegations

Pro Wrestling Sheet reached out to Jeff Jarrett and got a response to the allegations. According to Jarrett, he said that he never passed out in the locker room. He also said that Steven Ewaschuki was an “amateur.”

According to the reports, Jeff Jarrett had problems at the Canadian border and was allowed across as long as he showed up at by 6 a.m. the next morning to work things out.

This also isn’t the first time that Jeff Jarrett has faced allegations such as these. He was sent on a leave of absence from Impact Wrestling before they finally terminated him and parted ways with the former owner of the company. According to those reports , Ed Nordholm was unhappy with “erratic behavior” from Jarrett.
