When it comes to the WWE, Hulk Hogan is a name brand that even non-fans will recognize without much thinking. But now we have a rumor that Sting’s WWE appearance may overshadow the Hulkster’s birthday bash tomorrow on Monday Night RAW.
In a related report by The Inquisitr , Steve Austin claims he’s a bigger WWE star than Hulk Hogan , which should have some fans arguing the merits of both wrestlers. But one thing I think everyone can agree on is that the aging Hulk would probably be beat badly if he tried to step in the ring with John Cena as he supposedly desires, never mind Brock Lesnar .
So far we don’t actually know what Hulk Hogan’s WWE return will bring us but we do know it will be a birthday bash. WWE fans are being invited to participate in the celebration by sending Hogan birthday messages via Twitter using the hash tag #HBDHulkHogan. We also know his birthday might bring out various celebrities of the past, although whether or not they’ll wrestle or just throw birthday cake at the Hulk is another matter entirely.
To give you an idea on the condition of Hogan, the almost 61-year-old wrestler messed up his back by leaning over to pick up sea shells on the beach . Not kidding! Regardless of these injuries, Hogan wants to wrestle in the WWE once again:
“Brother, my goal, my goal is to perform in the ring again. You know, it’s not if, it’s when. Because I’ve been training like crazy and my back, the crazy thing is that my back doesn’t hurt at all. My back’s perfect, you know I’ve finally got my back straightened out…. But, anyway, to make a long story short, if I get in there I want to make sure I’m ready to go and I give them something really to remember me by. So my goal in life would be to perform again in that WWE ring.”
At the same time, Sting is already age 55, so perhaps that puts things in perspective. Even Sting knows enough is enough at his age since he’s already saying his next WWE match will also be his last:
“I’m 99.99% sure and can say that it would definitely be the last one.”
Still, we can safely put the Sting rumor to rest. According WrestleZone , PWinsider is reporting that the WCW legend is currently not booked Monday Night RAW or the Hulk’s birthday celebration:
“Sting is not currently booked for Hulk Hogan’s birthday celebration on Raw Monday night, and despite WWE teasing several surprises for the show, Sting is not one of them.”
What do you think about the idea of Hulk Hogan wanting to wrestle in the WWE again?
