In case you haven’t heard, Ann Coulter was one of the roasters at the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe last night. Since then, stories about how badly she got burned by her fellow roasters has basically broken the internet. Nearly all of the major news outlets have highlighted America’s apparent hatred for Ann Coulter, which leaves many people begging the question, “why does everyone hate and Coulter?”
Oh. My. God.???? Ann Coulter was BLASTED as she participated in the Rob Lowe roast. pic.twitter.com/KeGBiIR60h

You may also be asking yourself why the controversial non-comedian was on the Comedy Central stage in the first place. Rob Lowe said that Coulter was part of the roast precisely because she was the unexpected option and a very unlikely choice. It’s safe to say her victimhood as the brunt of one scathing joke after another was also unexpected.

So why exactly do people hate Ann Coulter? Well, there is no one answer to the question. The opinions on Coulter’s hated status are ages old, widespread, and varied. In fact, the exact question “Why do people hate Ann Coulter so much?” was the topic of a Yahoo answers thread from eight years ago!
In that post, responders provided a link to the list of reasons hatred for Ann Coulter runs deep.
“She plagiarized portions of her book. Fake writer, fake ideas. She has no sense of history. So she invents it. She lies to cover the fact she doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She claimed that 9/11 widows were being whiny broads, who enjoyed their husbands’ deaths. She’s anti-semitic. She called John Edwards a fagot.”
There’s even a Facebook page titled I Really Hate Ann Coulter that is solely dedicated to, you guessed it, hating Ann Coulter .
If that wasn’t bad enough, there is also a book, an actual book, that can be purchased on Amazon for $10.99, entitled I Hate Ann Coulter . In the description of the product, potential buyers can read about how the book itself was written as a tool for getting rid of Ann Coulter altogether.
“At first we thought she was amusing. Disrespectful? Yes. But that mouth of hers was sassy, and we kind of liked it. Unfortunately, she turned out to be a fatal attraction, a political “bunny boiler.” By the time she insulted the 9/11 widows, we were over her — the Cult of Coulter wasn’t funny anymore.”
“I Hate Ann Coulter! is the first step toward ridding ourselves — as a country — of Ann Coulter. By examining her life and writings, interviewing high school classmates who remember Ann when she was a chubby brunette (presumably before she sold her soul to be thin, blond, and pure evil), and chronicling her ‘Black Tuesday’ (6/6/06) Today show appearance, when she stopped pushing the envelope and simply set it on fire, we hope to do our part to put her in her place once and for all.”
Yikes.
The release of Coulter’s new book, In Trump We Trust , coupled with her willingness to brave the stage at the roast of Rob Lowe seems to have, once again, made her on of the most hated women in America.

Maybe it is her not-so-well-received attempts at satire; maybe it’s her position on the right wing, or maybe it’s that she’s made a career out of saying things that are designed to offend other people intentionally. Maybe it’s all of the above.
No matter how you feel about Ann Coulter, one thing is for certain – she’s been at the center of controversy before, and she’ll probably be there again. She doesn’t seem too bothered by her status as a hated American, nor by being made the brunt of scathing jokes at the roast of Rob Lowe. And while people all over the country are busy hating her, based on her net worth, she’s busy laughing all the way to the bank.
What do you think? Is she has horrible as so many people say?
