Prince sadly has been added to the morbid list of celebrities and famous people that have already died in 2016. His sudden death yesterday shocked fans, who have already lost David Bowie, Doris Roberts, and Alan Rickman this year, bringing up the question: who is next in 2016?
This year is proving to be a heartbreaking one as celebrities old and young continue to die despite the year only being four months old.

Prince’s shocking death is the latest in a string of musicians, actors, politicians, journalists, and writers who lost their lives in 2016. The singer was found dead in his home at the age of 57 on April 21. The cause of his death has not been confirmed, but tributes for the Purple Rain singer have already started to pour in.

Doris Roberts, the veteran actor who is the wildly adored mom, “Marie,” in the long-running sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond , passed away at the age of 90. Roberts died on April 17, to the shock of fans and friends alike.

Ronnie Corbett died on March 31 at the age of 85. The Scottish actor, singer, and comedian, who was known for his small size and big roles, was on the New Year’s Honor’s List in 2012 for services to entertainment and charity.

Nancy Reagan , the former First Lady, died of heart failure at the age of 94 on March 6. She was the wife of former President Ronald Reagan and was also an actress. She devoted herself to her husband and his political career and is remembered best for her “Just Say No” campaign.

Harper Lee, the author who is best known for her highly acclaimed novel To Kill A Mockingbird, died February 19. Her death at the age of 89 came just a year after her second and last novel, Go Set a Watchman, was published .

Sir Terry Wogan, who is remembered for his work on British television and as a radio personality, died January 31 after suffering a short illness at the age of 77. Wogan presented the Radio 2 breakfast show for 12 years from 1972 and again from 1993 until 2009.

To the shock of old and young fans, Alan Rickman died after a secret battle with cancer on January 14. Rickman, who is remembered for his roles in Harry Potter, Love Actually, and Die Hard , kept his illness quiet and is one of Britain’s, and the worlds, best-loved actors. His death sent shockwaves through Harry Potter fandom, as fans later discovered that Rickman had also suffered a stroke the previous year, which he also kept quiet. The loss of Rickman happened just days after the death of David Bowie.
David Bowie died , after an 18-month battle with cancer, at the age of 69 in New York City. Like Rickman, Bowie concealed that he was sick from fans and friends. Bowie died on January 4 and “died peacefully, surrounded by his family.”

Other celebrities who have lost their lives in 2016 include:
Victoria Wood, the talented writer, performer and songwriter, died April 20 at the age of 62 after battling cancer.
Joan Marie Laurer, better known as Chyna, died at the age of 45 on April 20 from a suspected prescription drug overdose. Chyna was a popular wrestler who also starred in adult films.
Patty Duke, the much-loved american singer and actor, died at the age of 69. The Oscar winner died on March 29 after her intestines ruptured.
Sir George Martin was the British music producer who guided The Beatles in the studio. He died in his sleep on March 8 at the age of 90.
George Kennedy, the Oscar winner who was known for his work in Cool Hand Luke, died February 28 at the age of 91.
Vanity, Denis Matthews, died on February 15 at the age of 57. Vanity was known for singing in the group Vanity 6 and also had a relationship with Prince in 1980. She died from kidney failure.
Glenn Frey, the founding member of iconic California group The Eagles, died January 18 at the age of 67 after a lengthy illness.
The long list of celebrities who have died in 2016 has raised concerns for other aging people in the limelight as the world fears what else 2016 may bring.
