The Ugandan maid and babysitter who recently maid international headlines for brutally beating a toddler is the center of controversy yet again. The 22-year-old woman, now dubbed as the “monster maid” has pleaded guilty to child torture under the Anti-Torture Act.

As previously reported by Inquisitr , the woman identified as Jolly Tumuhirwe, was charged with torture for her heinous actions. Now, she has pleaded guilty to the torture charges. But, unfortunately her lawyer, Ladislaus Rwakafuuzi, still isn’t pleased with the outcome of the case despite her actions. Although she will not be charged with attempted murder like law enforcement authorities previously speculated, her lawyer still insists she did not receive a “fair trial,” reports Fox News .

Although she was reportedly remorseful for her actions, her lawyer revealed she still would not have plead guilty if she thoroughly understood the charges. However, her decision may have been partially his fault because he admitted he was late for the court session that took place on Monday, Dec. 9.

A couple weeks ago, a disturbing video of the incident which occurred on Nov. 13, surfaced online. In the video, the babysitter could be seen brutally beating a defenseless toddler. The babysitter, who was being recorded by the family’s hidden surveillance system, had absolutely no clue the child’s father Eric Kamanzi was monitoring her, If she did, the disheartening act definitely wouldn’t have occurred the way it did.

In the video, she can be seen beating her because she vomited while eating. She threw the helpless child onto the floor and proceeded to drag, kick and slap her, delivering body blows and even a sharp kick to the head. At one point in the video, she even stepped on the poor child.

Tumuhirwe is currently behind bars at the Luzira Prison in Uganda and now faces 15 years in prison for the crime.

Based on the footage, do you feel the charges are befitting for the crime? Share your thoughts.
