Twitter Blocks James O’Keefe’s Account After Release Of Controversial Videos

Published on: October 13, 2016 at 9:46 AM

Twitter suspended the account of muckraker James O’Keefe last night after two hidden camera videos were released this week.

The social network lockout came after O’Keefe tweeted yesterday that he planned to release a video apparently featuring a U.S. senator or senate candidate.

O’Keefe’s tweet read, “Tomorrow our hidden cameras go inside a top donor fundraiser to see what a certain Senate candidate really thinks.”

In one of the videos that attracted a lot of attention, a New York City elections official, a Democrat, seems to acknowledge widespread voter fraud in the Big Apple, in part facilitated by Mayor Bill de Blasio’s distributing of so-called municipal ID cards. See videos embedded below and draw your own conclusions.

The official subsequently told the New York Post that he should have amended his remarks with the words “potential fraud” rather than fraud, but that he still favors the requirement to show a photo ID to vote, a measure that most Democrats vehemently oppose and which is not in effect in New York.

In a second video, a purported Hillary Clinton staffer allegedly talks about having to grab a co-worker’s “a**” twice in order to be fired from the campaign. On the same video, another Clinton staffer allegedly seems to be okay with trashing voter registration forms if a person seeks to register as a Republican rather than a Democrat.

Project Veritas posted a statement on its website.

“After releasing two viral videos over the last two days, Project Veritas Founder and President James O’Keefe is no longer allowed to access his Twitter account. According to Twitter, he is blocked from accessing his account for twelve hours, at which point they reserve the right to make him pass additional hurdles to access his account.”

“It is not clear why he was suspended. One possibility is that a slew of false complaints, potentially from fake ‘sock puppet’ accounts, could have triggered an automatic response,” Breitbart noted .

Twitter has faced accusation that it has suspended accounts belonging to outspoken conservatives/libertarians or shadow-banned certain tweets or accounts unfavorable to the Hillary Clinton presidential effort. The social network is currently up for sale but is having a hard time finding a buyer. Companies such as Google, Disney, and Salesforce.com have reportedly backed away from a potential deal, according to The Street .

Although O’Keefe has plenty of detractors for this particular brand of journalism or political pranks, and he has been accused of selective editing, his Project Veritas team, which mostly specializes in undercover videos, has done its share of investigative reporting.

This includes voter fraud and other corrupt or fraudulent government practices (or rampant political correctness on campus), investigative work which seems to be generally falling out of favor in the mainstream or legacy media. News-gathering organizations used to regularly employ techniques such as hidden camera research in their reportage.

You may recall that a prior O’Keefe video showed someone wearing an Osama bin Laden mask could walk across the southern border undetected, and also how a man wearing an ISIS uniform could cross by boat from Canada to the U.S. without being stopped.

In 2010, the conservative activist pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for a failed stunt at ex-U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu’s office in New Orleans.

Earlier this year, Project Veritas released two hidden camera videos exposing Common Core, according to O’Keefe, as a money grab .

James O’Keefe told the Gateway Pundit last night that “Twitter is trying to block our journalism. We’re too effective — and there are bombshells coming out all week.”

Watch this space for an update about if or when the latest O’Keefe video about the U.S. senator emerges and/or whether Twitter will reinstate his account.

Added: Here is the new O’Keefe undercover video filmed at a Silicon Valley fundraiser for ex-Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold who is trying win back his old job that relates to Hillary Clinton’s gun control agenda and the likelihood of executive orders to circumvent Congress.

James O’Keefe talks about voter fraud and his Twitter suspension on the Fox Business Channel.

UPDATE: James O’Keefe is back on Twitter after deleting one tweet and more likely, he explained, as a result of thousands of tweet complaints to Twitter about censorship; see video below.
