Tupac Shakur’s final words on earth were “F**k you,” according to the officer who responded to the bloody drive-by shooting that would claim the life of the rapper days later.

Shakur was shot in 1996 after a Mike Tyson fight at the MGM Grand. While his death remains a mystery, veteran police officer Chris Carroll said he tried to get the mortally wounded rapper to cooperate and give some kind of indication as to who fired the fatal shots.

Tupac refused.

“I’m looking at Tupac, and he’s trying to yell back at Suge, and I’m asking him, ‘Who shot you? What happened? Who did it?’ And he was just kind of ignoring me,” Carroll said. “He looked at me and he took a breath to get the words out … I thought I was actually going to get some cooperation. And then the words came out, ‘F–k you.’ ”

Carroll added, “After that, he started gurgling and slipping out of consciousness.”

Tupac fell into a coma and died six days later.

This is the second revelation from the rapper in a matter of months. Before Tupac Shakur’s final words were released, journalist Angie Martinez released a previously unheard interview in which Tupac expressed concern at the growing feud between East Coast and West Coast rappers.

Martinez said she was worried that releasing the interview could end up escalating the battle, but earlier this year decided to release the full interview .

“I was literally afraid that someone would die,” Martinez said. “I thought that I would be making a bad situation worse, when my intent was to try and smooth it out and make it better. But he was so angry and passionate at the time that I really felt that if I came and put it on the radio, it would have gotten worse.”

Martinez also celebrated the launch of her new website The Angie Review by making the full interview available to the public.

While Martinez has allowed the public to see her documents, there is no one who can back up Carroll’s claim about Tupac Shakur’s last words.
