A new trailer has been released for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles video game.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows is the latest video game tie-in to the ever-popular franchise that started in 1990 and evolved over two decades into a Nickelodeon re-release. Activision has released a trailer for the video game, showcasing a new art style that old-school movie purists can appreciate.
This video game sports an all-new look that makes the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles look almost real. Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michaelangelo have never looked so realistic (well as realistic as a teenage mutant ninja turtle can get, anyway). And what better time to release a realistic-looking video game than in the wake of the announcement of Michael Bay’s upcoming movie starring Megan Fox?
This video game, featuring four-player cooperative play, will be available to download from Xbox Live , PSN, and Steam .
The trailer, exclusively at Entertainment Weekly , starts with newspapers flashing up on the screen with headlines such as “City Crime Escalates”, “Chief of Police Concerned”, “Robbery at TCRI Labs”, “Crime Syndicates” and “Rumors of Masked Vigilantes Spread.” A rocking soundtrack plays alongside the voiceover:
“There appear to be no eye-witnesses to any of these crimes … robbery at TSCRI labs last night … organized criminal element is at work…”
Then we see Leonardo in the gritty New York streets swiping a sword at the screen, leaving a graffiti style streak of blue with the words “This Summer” overlaying it in white. A transition shows a fight from overhead leading to Michaelangelo leaving an orange streak across the screen with his nun-chucks with the overlaying words “Out of the Shadows.” Another fight leads to Raphael swiping his Sai across the screen to reveal a red streak, “To the Streets.” The fourth sequence includes Donatello leaving a purple streak with his bo staff, “Turtles will Rise.”
The final sequence shows the teenage mutant ninja turtles back to back as the video game title drops into place like a door.
