A new Thor: The Dark World clip features Thor running into battle.

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston’s latest film will continue the tale that the first Thor began and The Avengers continued, as the realm of Asgard is now under attack. A year after Loki (Tom Hiddleston) attempted to use the tesseract to bring an army to invade Earth, Thor (Christ Hemsworth) returns to Asgard to bring order back to the Nine Realms of Norse mythology. An ancient enemy has begun an all-out war that not even Odin (Anthony Hopkins) could halt, and the clip above shows what may be Thor’s grand entrance in an effort to put an end to the battle.

This time around, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) joins Thor in his quest to bring order to Asgard and the Nine Realms, though what her role is isn’t entirely clear beyond some kind of mysterious infection that Thor must bring her to Asgard to cure.

As the Thor: The Dark World clip begins, Thor’s childhood friend Sif (Jaimie Alexander) is shown riding a horse into battle, sword drawn as she’s knocked from her horse. She begins a fight with what is assumed to be an invading race’s soldier as an Asgardian who looks a little like Gimli from Lord of the Rings fights alongside her. A few other soldiers come along with bazookas of a sort, firing them into a village as the natives run for their lives.

Fire and explosions rock the landscape as the battle continues unabated, and as Sif stops fighting just long enough to possibly stare her fate in the eyes as a soldier points one of the weapons at her, a beam of light erupts and they both shield their eyes.

Out of the beam, Mjolnir flies into the battle, and then flies back where it came from, landing in Thor’s hand before he flies over two soldiers and slams the hammer into the ground, knocking everyone down. Sif says she had everything under control, and he asks, “Is that why everything’s on fire?”

What do you think of the Thor: The Dark World clip above? Are you excited to see the film when it hits theaters November 8?
