The Walking Dead Season 7 is only weeks away, and fans are scouring the internet for any news or spoilers about what lies ahead on the hit AMC zombie series. While many viewers are talking about the possibility of Glenn’s death , it seems that they may need to worry about Carol as well.
According to iDigital Times , Carol’s storyline is completely different on the show than it is in the comic books . In the comics Carol is long gone, but her daughter Sophia lives. The comic book version of the fan favorite character actually starts a romantic relationship with Tyreese, but is devastated when she finds out that he’s been cheating on her with Michonne.
Carol then begins to isolate herself and engages in some dark behavior, such as throwing herself at Rick and Lori. After the couple decline her advances she eventually gives up on life. The Walking Dead readers then followed along as Carol tied a walker to a post and let it eat her alive.
While comic book Carol is totally different from the Carol that fans of the show have come to know and love, there is an interesting parallel between them. When viewers last saw Carol in Season 6, she was falling into a depression and isolating herself from the rest of the group.
Walking Dead fans began to watch Carol feel extreme guilt over the lives she’s taken to protect the people that she loves. She even started keeping a tally of all the people she’s killed since the zombie apocalypse started. The character has become an expert at hiding her emotions and her intentions, which has lead to some interesting interactions between her and the other characters in the past. However, now that Carol is gone, and fans don’t yet know where she is, anything can happen.
Based on The Walking Dead Season 7 trailers, it seems that Carol has made her way into a new group. Their community is called The Kingdom, and their leader is a man named Ezekiel, who has a pet Tiger named Shiva. Carol could do well among Ezekiel and his people, and rumors have already started that Carol and Ezekiel could start a romantic relationship. She may even want to stay with him.
However, Walking Dead viewers know that Morgan is on the hunt for Carol, and will likely find her. If anyone can save Carol from herself and the guilt she feels it is Morgan. Morgan has been through the exact same thing, and luckily had someone who taught him how to deal with the bad feelings the new world has created for him. Perhaps Morgan will pass on his knowledge and possibly even save Carol’s life in the process.
However, if Carol were to decide she’s tired of living in the new world, and is ready to join her daughter Sophia in the afterlife , then it’s unlikely that anyone will be able to stop her. If Carol chooses to die, it will most definitely be on her own terms.
The good news for Walking Dead fans who love Carol, is that creator Robert Kirkman says he can’t image killing Carol off the show at this point. Since Carol is the most dramatically different from her comic book character and has become such a force to be reckoned with, it would be hard to see her go. Unfortunately, it does seem that when the Season 7 premiere rolls around next month fans will be forced to say goodbye to a beloved character, and all signs are pointing to it being Glenn Rhee.
What are your thoughts on the latest Walking Dead spoilers? Do you think Carol could die in Season 7?
