The Walking Dead Season 7 is currently filming, and fans are anxiously waiting for spoilers. There has not been much since the cast and crew are busy keeping a tight lid on any leaks. However, what some TWD fans observed may give a few clues on what to expect when the zombie series returns to AMC.
Warning: Possible TWD Season 7 spoilers are ahead!
As previously reported by the Inquisitr , Ezekiel and his pet zombie-gnawing tiger will appear in Season 7 of The Walking Dead . A casting notice was sent out, and although the character was named “Augustus,” the description seemed to fit Ezekiel from the TWD comic books.

As for more recent filming updates for TWD , the Spoiling Dead Fans shared some information. According to reports, smoke was seen coming from Alexandria. One viewers noted that if Season 7 follows the Walking Dead comic books, it could be from Negan’s attack on the community.
In the comic books, Rick plays along with Negan, making him think the group is compliant. However, the main character is coming up with another plan. One day, Negan arrives unannounced. When this happens, Rick tries to kill the villain, but Negan had his men hidden. Thankfully, the Kingdom saves the day.
According to Walking Dead Wikia , this results in an all-out war with Negan and the Saviors . While Rick and Ezekiel spend all night making a battle plan, Negan arrives the next morning. After a few diversions, including using a walker as bait, Negan orders his men to throw grenades. In the TWD comic books, Negan’s attack results in several homes in Alexandria going up in flames.
Could Negan’s attack on Alexandria be why smoke was seen coming from the filming location? It certainly is a possibility. If the storyline follows the comics closely or has its own twist won’t be known until the zombie series returns.

What else was revealed about Season 7 filming? Apparently, the RV was seen. Some fans speculated that after Negan’s brutal attack, Rick’s group may be sent back to Alexandria. This makes sense and goes along with what fans have read in the Walking Dead comic books.
Since filming began on May 2, the cast of The Walking Dead has been seen in a few different locations. Many TV shows don’t film in the order the episodes will be aired. Due to different locations being used in each episode, that would make it more costly and time-consuming. As for the actors, there have been times when they were transported in dark vans.
In early April, it was reported that in a conference call, the TWD showrunner said Heath would be seen again. Fans worried about Corey Hawkins’ character because the actor was cast in FOX’s 24 reboot.
“It’s a problem, but thematically with the character, luckily I had been thinking about this possibility for awhile,” Scott Gimple said about Hawkins’ new gig, according to Variety , “and really just trying to find several different ways to get to where I wanted to get with the character [even] if we don’t get there on the exact schedule that we hoped to.”
Regarding the theme of The Walking Dead Season 7, expect a lot of different stories. At the same time, viewers will see each of the main characters going on their own journey.
“In the next half season, the world is going to open up even more. We are going to have a wide variety of locales and a wide variety of tone, of character. I’m very excited for all the different stories that are going to be told,” Gimple told IGN regarding Season 7 , “and I can say without spoiling anything that things are going to start off very, very, very dark, because everybody knows where we’re starting, but that won’t be the whole season. It’s not going to be darkness upon darkness upon darkness. I’m very excited for all the individual characters’ journeys — except for the way we start, which will be awful.”
What do you think will happen when TWD returns? Was the smoke at Alexandria an attack by Negan? Will the storyline in the TV show mimic the comics, or do you think there will be some differences?
The Walking Dead Season 7 does not have a premiere date yet.
