Fans of The Walking Dead comic book know of a lot of things that are coming the way of the television series, and one of them is the appearance of Negan. It’s been rumored that the villain would soon be showing up, and that’s part of what made Glenn’s death (?) so surprising, but wait no more. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as the evil man known as Negan, and he will be showing up soon.
Please let it be known that there are possible SPOILERS ahead for the current season and comic book of The Walking Dead . If you don’t want to know them, stop reading now.
Yes, as TV Line reported, Jeffrey Dean Morgan has indeed been cast as the evil villain Negan on The Walking Dead . Not only that, it’s been confirmed that he’s going to make his long-awaited debut in the season 6 finale.
Negan is expected to show up at the end of season 6, and then he’s going to return in season 7 as a series regular. Morgan currently makes regular appearances on The Good Wife , but it appears as if that role may soon come to an end.
For those that don’t want to be spoiled about Negan and something seriously horrible that he does in the Robert Kirkman comic books, avert your eyes.
In the comics, Negan carries around a baseball bat who he has lovingly named “Lucille.” With that bat, the big-time baddie of The Walking Dead absolutely destroys Glenn and ends up murdering him.
See, this is a big reason why so many people aren’t sure that Glenn actually died a couple of episodes ago. Ever since the controversial, and possible nonexistent, death, people have started a number of theories as to the way that Glenn could have survived and will soon be back with the group.
In the comics, Glenn’s death is a lot more brutal and a pivotal point in the storyline, so it will be interesting to see what happens.
Things were semi-spoiled for Negan’s appearance a while back when AMC’s casting director sent out a call for a character named “Orin.” The role called for someone to be brutal, imposing, ferocious, charismatic, and a hilarious sociopath in his 30’s to mid-40’s.
Scott M. Gimple, showrunner for The Walking Dead , was asked if “Orin” was simply a code word for “Negan.”
“I can neither confirm nor deny. It’s not the worst guess in the world. It’s difficult to get around your logic here.”
Now, that is something happening later in season 6 of The Walking Dead , but let’s look at what may be happening this week. Unfortunately, it involves a bit of trouble for the favorite character of many — Daryl Dixon .
As reported by Latin Post , this Sunday’s episode is titled “Always Accountable,” and right now, there are some survivors in danger. Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham are attempting to get back to Alexandria safely, but it’s not going to be very easy.
It’s not known how long Alexandria is going to stay a safe-zone, but right now, it’s all about getting back there for the trio. Daryl is attempting to lead them back there, but spoilers for the episode state that they will have to deal with some major obstacles on their way back.
One of those obstacles is a brand new threat, but it’s not yet known if that is composed of Walkers or humans.
Plenty of danger is already happening for those in season 6 of The Walking Dead , and Daryl Dixon has been at the core of many suspicious rumors . Still, there is more danger on the way in the form of Negan who should end up being played perfectly by Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
