The Voice have already confirmed that newbie coach Miley Cyrus will be sitting out Season 12 of the NBC singing show to make room for returning coach Gwen Stefani, but when Miley returns to her revolving chair for Season 13, will she be joined by Christina Aguilera and not Adam Levine and Blake Shelton?
Rumors have been swirling over the past few days as to who will be sitting alongside Cyrus on Season 13, and many fans of the singing series are speculating that Aguilera, who’s appeared on Seasons 1 to 3, 5, 8 and 10, could potentially be returning to The Voice in the place of either veteran coaches Adam or Blake.
The rumors began to swirl after Radar Online alleged that both Adam and Blake were “highly considering” quitting The Voice altogether after appearing on all 11 seasons, 12 once the twosome complete their stint on the first round of shows of 2017, even claiming that Levine and Shelton could potentially quit the show next year with Blake’s girlfriend Gwen.
An insider recently alleged to the site that Shelton and Levine supposedly both “feel that they have run their course as judges” after sticking with The Voice since if first began in 2011. “[Blake and Adam] are highly considering both exiting at the same time, along with Gwen,” the site’s The Voice source continued.
Adam and Blake are still yet to comment on whether or not they’ll be quitting The Voice after Season 12, if only for a single season, though speculation over what the coaching team for Season 13 will look like has hit fever pitch on social media.
Many fans threw their support behind Aguilera potentially reclaiming her The Voice seat, tweeting out their support for the singer amid the rumors claiming Christina could potentially be heading back to The Voice after what will be two seasons away.
“@xtina The Voice just isn’t the same w out u hope u are back next season u r the best,” The Voice fan @britney_cruize tweeted out, and @misstine718 wrote, “Christina you have to return to [ The Voice ]! The newbies are ruining the show!!! #TheVoice #BringChristinaBack.”
But while some The Voice viewers supported Christina Aguilera’s potential return, others took to the 140-character site to urge Adam Levine and Blake Shelton to stick with the series amid the quitting rumors, with some even threatening to boycott The Voice without Adam and Blake.

“Hey Adam I’m so happy for u also I really love Blake Shelton wish u and him wouldn’t quit the voice y’all two are the best on,” Twitter user @BuehringBlair wrote to Levine amid The Voice rumors, while @pamelalmiller67 wrote, “.@blakeshelton I just heard that you, Adam+Gwen are leaving The Voice season 13 cause of Miley. We want you she can go.”
But while The Voice fans continue to speculate about Shelton and Levine potentially quitting the show and sitting out Season 12, others are claiming that Adam could potentially return to The Voice without Blake, making him the longest standing coach in the show’s history.
Miley news source @TeamCyrusHD alleged on the social media site that the coaching lineup for Cyrus’s next season of The Voice had leaked, speculating that Adam would actually be returning but claimed that Blake would not.
“Rumor is that along with Miley, the other Season 13 coaches will be Adam, Christina Aguilera and Pharrell Williams!” the Twitter account alleged, meaning that Blake would be moving on after Season 12 alongside Stefani and current judge Alicia Keys, who is also confirmed to appear on the next cycle of the NBC show.
Rumors that Adam could in fact be appearing on his 13th season of the show began to swirl earlier this week despite Radar Online recently claiming that Levine was particularly serious about skipping Season 13 amid reports of a nasty feud with Miley.
An insider alleged to the site that the two were caught up in a pretty nasty feud on the set, even going as far as to claim that Adam and Miley were butting heads so badly that one of the main factors in Levine’s consideration to take a break was his supposed bad blood with Cyrus.
“Adam does not really want to return if they bring Miley back,” the site’s source claimed of Levine’s plans to potentially skip the next round of shows amid his alleged The Voice feud with Cyrus, adding that Adam supposedly “really cannot stand Miley” and thinks she is “the most obnoxious person ever.”
“[Adam] is that over it,” the insider added of Levine’s frustrations amid his and Cyrus’s alleged feud, though Blake and Adam are still yet to officially confirm or deny if they will be returning for the 13th time and sitting alongside Miley on Season 13 of The Voice .
Would you still tune in to The Voice if either Blake Shelton or Adam Levine sit out Season 13 to make way for Christina Aguilera and Miley Cyrus?
