Heroes get remembered, but movies never die. The cast of The Sandlot reunited this week for the 20th anniversary of the classic baseball film.
According to Salt Lake Tribune , Squints, Timmy Timmons, Hamm, and Yeah Yeah returned to the original field in Salt Lake City this weekend for a special screening of the movie.
Director Mickey Evans said that the field looks just like it did in 1992.
Evans said: “Everything we’re standing near is exactly where it was. Just on the money.”
The Sandlot cast reunited to watch the youth baseball team the Salt Lake Bees play a game on Saturday night. Then they held a scrimmage with the kids the following morning on the original Sandlot field.
Patrick Renna, the actor who played catcher Hamilton Porter, said: “I don’t think any of us, when we were playing basically on this field 21 years ago could have every know there would be 1,500 people here to watch us play baseball.”
In addition to the baseball game, director Mickey Evans took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend.
