Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told WWE fans exactly what they wanted to hear, calling out superstar Roman Reigns and labeling him as one of the guys on the current roster he would like to have a crack at.
The Rock and Reigns are real-life cousins, and have never gone head to head, with their only real interaction on the show dating back to 2015, when The Rock helped Reigns win the Royal Rumble .
Given The Rock’s touch-and-go relationship with the WWE, a fight between him and Reigns didn’t seem very likely. But taking his recent comments into consideration, we just might see the two supremos go at each other.
Johnson, who has become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars since rising to fame as a wrestler, was speaking during a Q&A session at Comic Con on the weekend. Asked which present superstar he would like to fight, The People’s Champ came up with three names , as noted by Wrestling Inc .
Someone from the crowd quickly asked about the possibility of a match-up with AJ Styles, but The Rock rebuffed the idea, albeit insisting that he liked Styles, whom he referred to as a “good dude.”
Instead, and of course, to everyone’s delight, he called out Triple H and Brock Lesnar, reserving some special words for his kinsman.
“One would be Triple H, The Game,” he said. “The other would be The Beast Brock Lesnar, the other one would be a guy that actually just needs my foot in his a**, Roman Reigns. Yeah.”

Reigns, meanwhile, is open to the idea of battling his legendary cousin as well. Last month, The Big Dog told the Mirror , a popular UK publication, that he had no qualms over a duel between himself and The Rock. He also threw a bit of shade, declaring that if someone who doesn’t perform in the ring every night wants to come at him in his yard, then he surely won’t be backing down.
The 32-year-old star, who only recently reunited with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to form The Shield, could not participate in the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match against The Miz, Kane, Braun Strowman, and The Bar last month as a result of having contracted a viral illness. But Raw GM Kurt Angle stepped in as a replacement to put in a vintage performance that sent shock waves through the WWE.
Reigns is expected back in the next two or three weeks, with Survivor Series looming. Yet fans will be hoping that The Rock makes good on his aspirations to give them what could be one of the most exhilarating matches of recent times.
