Kurt Sutter’s new Sons of Anarchy spin-off is getting closer to becoming a reality. While fans wait to hear more on the casting front, many are left wondering if characters from the original will make their way to Mayans MC . Is there a possibility that Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) and the rest of the members of SAMCRO will have cameos on the spin-off?
According to Parent Herald , Sutter plans on using entirely new characters for the spin-off. Unfortunately, this means that many of the old Sons of Anarchy stars might not make appearances in the show, though it is still a possibility.
Instead or revisiting old characters, Sutter is building a new biker world through the lens of Latinos. The spin-off almost might take place after the events in Sons of Anarchy , which would definitely rule out an appearance from Hunnam.
That being said, there is a chance that the Mayans MC will include some characters from the original show. This includes Marcus Alvarez (Emilio Rivera), the president of the motorcycle club, and Nero Padilla (Jimmy Smits). Whether or not members from SAMCO will make their way onto the show is yet to be seen.
Until more information is released, it is unclear whether or not any Sons of Anarchystars will appear in Sutter’s new spin-off. In the meantime, fans can enjoy their favorite characters in other projects. With that in mind, here is a quick look at what the Sons of Anarchyalum are up to now.
Ron Perlman (Clay Morrow) has been active following his character’s exit from Sons of Anarchy . According to Pop Sugar , Perlman worked as a voice character in Robodog and snagged a role in The Bleeder . As far as upcoming projects are concerned, fans can watch Perlman in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them .
According to Life & Style magazine, Katey Sagal (Gemma Teller) continued to work with Sutter – who is also her husband – after the end of Sons of Anarchy . This included stints on Sutter’s The Bastard Executioner , though that series only lasted one season. More recently, Sagal has been active on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and is gearing up for a part in the new Dirty Dancing movie.
Theo Rossi (Juice) has lined up a role in Netflix’s newest series, Luke Cage. The series is based on the Marvel comic of the same name and premieres on September 30. Rossi is also getting ready to appear in When the Bough Breaks.
