Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has been busy wrapping up production for the first season of The Bastard Executioner . Sutter’s newest series centers around a warrior night (Lee Jones) under King Edward, who is caught between his former life of violence and the peaceful existence he wants to live.
While the series is moving forward with its first season, two behind-the-scenes videos have been released. The videos, which were posted on YouTube, show Stephen Moyer and Sam Spruell discussing their work in the series.
Stephen Moyer, who is set to play Milus Corbett, stated that working with Sutter is a dream come true.
“If I could have written down on the back of an envelope, what I wanted to do, I think one of those things would be to work with Kurt Sutter… One of those things would be able to use my own accent and not a Louisiana drawl, and one of those would be to ride horses and play with swords.”
Meanwhile, Sam Spruell, who will be playing Toran Prichard in the period drama, is seen in the second video discussing how well the script was written.
“From the first time I read it I thought it was just a really exciting script and really well written… I could tell it was really well written because I could learn it really quickly, and badly written scripts are impossible to learn.”
The Bastard Executioner will also star Sutter’s wife, Sons of Anarchy alum Katey Sagal, and his daughter, Sarah White.
Sagal is playing the role of Annora of the Alders in the new series. Sutter recently posted an image of Sagal as Annora along with one of his daughters, Sarah White, who will be playing Isabel.
Sutter, who is known for his creation, Sons of Anarchy, as well as his role in the biker drama as Otto Delaney, will also be playing a character in his new drama. Sutter is set to appear as the Dark Mute in the violent medieval series. His character will serve as a sort of guide to Annora of the Alders, and will rarely show his face or speak.
No official trailer has been made available at this time, and there have been very few photos from the set — except for the ones Sutter has posted to Instagram . Fans will have to wait until this fall to see Moyer, Spruell, and the rest of the cast of The Bastard Executioner on FX.
