Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The film has been moved from June 6 to August 8. According to Deadline, this was done to avoid competition with Michael Bay’s Transformers 4 , which is scheduled for a June 27 release. However, that date could change to June 25, as Bay films are typically released on Wednesday instead of Friday.

Universal’s Dracula, starring Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, and Dominic Cooper, and Touchstone/DreamWorks’ The Hundred-Foot Journey, starring Helen Mirren and Manish Dayal are also scheduled for August 8.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is also sandwiched between Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Focus Features’ Fifty Shades of Grey on August 1 and Lionsgate’s The Expendables 3 on August 15.

The film had already been moved back from May 16 to June 6 to avoid competition with Warner Bros.’ Godzilla.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox (April O’Neil), Alan Ritchson (Raphael), Jeremy Howard (Donatello), Pete Ploszek (Leonardo), Noel Fisher (Michelangelo), Will Arnett (Vernon Fernwick), Danny Woodburn (Splinter), and William Fichtner as Shredder.

Fichtner recently revealed that Shredder’s name had been changed from the source material . In the comics and previous film adaptations, Shredder was a Japanese man named Oroku Saki. In the reboot, he has been renamed as Eric Sachs.

“[The movie] is not like anything that I remember about the ‘Turtles’ before. I feel like this Michael Bay-produced movie is just gonna really be something else. I’m pretty excited,” Fichtner said.

The veteran actor wouldn’t reveal any further details about the character, including whether or not his race has changed as well.

“I think it would be much more exciting to find out these things as they unfold,” he said.
