Looks like the race has already started for the new Batman role. Fans were ecstatic to learn that a Batman and Superman combo film is being pushed for 2015, which will see Man of Steel’s Henry Cavill go head to head with Bruce Wayne. With a Superman already cast, speculation immediately turned over to who would be the perfect hit against Cavill.
It looks like the studio is already one step ahead of the game, as they’re already testing actors for the pivotal role, made “cool” again by actor Christian Bale. With Christopher Nolan, director Zack Snyder, and David S. Goyer all on board, we know the casting of Batman is in good hands.
It’s been revealed that the three along with a very excited Warner Bros are looking to screen test Teen Wolf’s heart throb Tyler Hoechlin for the role. It’s said that Hoechlin will screen test alongside Henry Cavill, and that the studio is looking for someone with a similar reputation to Cavill.
We’re not sure if the reputation they’re looking for means looks-wise or a certain career trajectory. Hoechlin certainly has the scruffy look down, although he may look a bit young against Cavill. As for his career, Tyler has been acting since a child. Before his role on MTV’s Teen Wolf he was in the last few seasons of 7th Heaven, as well as the film Open Gate, and Hall Pass.
In regards to the plot of the film it’s said by Comic Book News:
“Batman certainly doesn’t trust Superman. Superman doesn’t trust Batman; either of which causes the two to clash when they initially meet. They do however pair up to defeat the villains (not 100% confirmed who the villains are). COULD be Luthor and Joker, but only a select few really know that.”
Do you think Tyler Hoechlin is right for the part of Batman?
