Joking with those in attendance Swift went so far as to thank all her fans who clapped for her victory, a move the Washington Post seems to think was a subtle a reference to her MTV VMA’s debacle when Kanye West during the 2009 MTV Awards show. During that acceptance speech Kanye West took the mic from her and said “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
Taylor’s awards were picked up as part of the show’s pre-television section of the awards event.
