It seems that “Blank Space” star Taylor Swift could be ideally qualified for a new career as a matchmaker. Earlier this week, it was reported in Inquisitr that Swift has been helping her friend Ed Sheeran to find a new love. Sheeran recently split with his long-time girlfriend Athina Andrelos and told an Australian radio station that Taylor was acting as his “wing-man” helping him to meet girls.
It would seem that Sheeran is not the only star to turn to Swift for advice on the dating game. The Mirror reports today that Florence Welch of Florence And The Machine has also turned to Taylor for lessons in love. Florence turned to Swift for advice after a complicated on-off relationship left her in “a sea of tears and confusion.” According to ITV News , Florence turned to Taylor for help after a high profile Gala that they both attended .
The Irish Independent claims that Welch was talking to the Sunday Times when she explained how helpful Swift had been . Welch said that she was at Taylor’s apartment with a group of celebrities when she turned to Swift for advice.
“Lena Dunham was there, and Spike Jonze and Reese Witherspoon and Zooey Deschanel, eating pizza, talking about boys. I’d already asked loads of taxi drivers and everyone else I’d met [for advice]so I thought why not Taylor Swift and Spike Jonze too?”
“I know it sounds a cliche, but [Swift] is good to talk to about boys. She knows her stuff.”
Taylor is believed to be dating DJ Calvin Harris and has had a number of high profile break-ups in her past. Swift famously dated One Direction star Harry Styles and singer John Mayer and it is widely believed that Taylor has written songs about her former lovers.
Welch opened up about how low she had been feeling as a result of her “complicated” relationship, but it seems like Swifts advice has done some good as Welch is now dating someone new, a fashion photographer she met whilst walking in her local park.
Rumors about Taylor Swift’s love life are never far from the gossip columns and she has recently been linked with Irish singer Hozier. According to Goss, Hozier has told the Guardian that the pair are no more than friends.
“Taylor Swift came to a show in Nashville. She was very supportive from early on, tweeting about the music.”
“I met her and she’s very funny – she’s got a good sense of humor.”
Taylor Swift certainly has plenty of experience to draw on when it comes to dating and seems keen to give advice to her friends. It looks like she could easily develop a career as a matchmaker if she tires of the music business.
